Hey all,

I am not sure why, but each day now my eyes open at 6:59. If I am lucky 7:15 or so but very early. This causes me to take my Oxycodone first dose early. So my 10MG x 4, usually last one at about 4:30PM.

I figured it was the opioid withdrawal awaking me, so last night I took an extra Oxy at 8:30PM and stayed up until 1AM. Low and behold it is now 7:15AM and wide awake!

The earlier hours occured when I was abusing alcohol but it's been about 2 weeks and each day I awake early. It makes the day very difficult to map out. Is there anything to do with my opioid timing or what can this be? I used to take my last pill at 7PM and I would sleep until 10AM!

Somewhat weird situation as you are not abstaining from anything right?

When I recently stopped drinking (16 day'sago) and smoking weed (temporarely started 5 day's ago) and stopped my Dextro-Amphetamin. I basickly seem to have lost the ability to have a normal sleep architecture. Did some research and settled with it. I have sleeping disorders and it's not mediated through THC, although it lessens it to a degree.

Sleeping 4/5 hours a night is ok. Missing a night here and there is ok also. Some day's, about once a week, I'll sleep 10+. Although it's uncomfortable and the ruine that was once sleep gives me a lot of daytime foggyness. But it's not harmfull afaik. Craving for a sedative is another side effect, I'll give into that one when I think it's necessary, just not to often.

If you are lucky there is an anti-Histamine OTC. Just be sure you don't have RLS, if you are prone to it it will make it worse.
Most probably the nr. 1 reason for my f*cked nightrest, RLS and Bruxism (restless jaw syndrom). Do you have sleep disturbances FutureReference? You might not notice as opiates are one of the better remedy's against them.

like the above. when i stopped drinking, i ended up waking up constantly between the 3-6 hour mark in bad shape to say the least, i find if i take my morphine before i go to bed, then i sleep longer than i would normally, wd waking ya up is totally possible.

Fuck this touches my soul. I have a Service Dog and she won't even sleep between my legs. When my father had cancer I'd sleep beside him and he told me years later he would have bruises from me kicking him! When I stopped opioids and benzos in entirety, specifically the Fentanyl i was prescribed.... there is nothing to say. Kicking in my sleep and nightmares are normal (Temazepam does help slightly) but.... that feeling. I didn't sleep for 8 days and i had to always move my legs. Pacing. Laying down and just kicking air. I tied a belt around my leg and literally started cutting my left leg before I came out of the mental state I was in. Thank God I think my Clonazepam has truly, mixed with Oxycodone, made it not an issue. I have just started DXM alongside Oxycodone and I haven't taken my last dose yet that would have been taken hours ago! The bottle had 60 capsules and now 32 so not sure of dose they were 15MG but between yesterday and today I took 28. Yesterday I had a bad headache I thought the DXM caused but today I have faith maybe this DXM is a Godsend. God Bless all who commented. I wish you all the best 🙏

Good luck Future!

I know this stuff is so hard to manage,
Hang in there brother.

It sounds like you have a sleep disorder. I do also. I just tried to get treatment for it but the sleep study alone is $800 out of pocket and then the treatment plan was GHB (Xyrem) which is $15,000 a month. I would have to pay 20% of that. Lol! No can do!
plus this specialist wanted to give me stimulants and anti depressants, gabapentin and 40 botox injections in my face, head, and neck every 3 months. This did not sound like a good treatment plan to me, even if I could afford it.

My dog will not sleep with me either and is a self taught service dog. She won’t leave my side during the day and gets up and checks on me often all night long. She is such a good friend and companion.

The clonazepam helps for “REM Sleep Behavior” disorder. At least keeps things under control as far as sleepwalking, sleep eating, leg kicking. This is what my other doctor and a different specialist diagnosed me with and said clonazepam is the only drug besides melatonin that will help. This was a diagnosis without the sleep study confirmation. The other specialist though it was Narcolepsy.

Have you ever tried melatonin Future? That may be an answer for you!
I tried it but it made me feel way strange. Hallucinatory. So I went with the clonazepam.

Just a thought.

Where you in Alcohol wd at that time Zonxx, or did you just stop drinking without any noticeable wd?

I never got any wd's, but my sleep hygeine I appreciated so much was gone. Totally f*cked after cessation but it was nice to see my turd getting a normal lightbrown color instead of dark brown. Is this somekind of re-adjusting of your body, the sleep not my shit. PAWS of some sort. Or a result of discontinuing dextro-Amphetamin at the same time.

Stopped that last one as it is the least I want with no downer's in prospect. And cause of stopping my Ganja consumption. These three stimulate each other so dropping one ment dropping all temporarely.

That suck's Painful One. 15.000/ month outrageous not even slightly related to what it cost's to make. Barely nothing.

So I hope you got an plan B for that one, at least afaik Xyrem is totally covered if you have prescription over here, maybe consider emigration?

When i was researching Bruxism or like a dr. put it nicely restless jaw syndrom, one of the things i found was that Clonazepam differt from the other benzo's as a better treatement. Besides the pronounced muscle relaxant properties it was supposed to have a better profile in regard's to sleep architecture. making it a benzo with some benefit's.

No personal experience with that one too bad. But on paper it seem's like a good option for sleep disorders.

Yeah, thanks @emkee_reinvented
It sucks to have had my hopes raised and now just slammed back down again.

I will get over it.
There just really isn’t anything else to be done for me, other than what my pain management doctor is doing.
That really is the best that can be done in my situation.

I have been told so many different things and have tried so many different treatments.

It is what it is. I just have to take it day by day and do the best I can.

That is all we can do really.

You win some, you loose some. I totally connect Painful One.

Wtf Future round 7 is not even near very early, just noticed. 4 oclock is early 1:30 is very early. Going from normal bedtime, a few hours before or after sunset depending on the season and location it varies. That is nine hours under covers.

Now we are on it what is the deal. What time you shut of your tv-screen's? My prefarable time is 20:00, about now. And have your last meal good meal? That moment you are winding down without screen or food tooth brushed in ya pyama, reading a book or mag, and you eyes are starting to protest against being open all the time. What time is it, myself that is roughly is between 21/ 22:30.

Hey brother,

To be truthful with you, i definitely am doing much better right now with sleep. I know you have a life but if you ever look back at my old posts I'd be up for 5 days in a row usually 80 hours on average but it became a weekly thing. Believe it or not, by simply moving my SSRI (Citalopram) from my wake up dose to a nighttime dose; I actually get sleep!

I still take my Clonazepam for trauma related hallucinations , anxiety, etc but that has never helped with sleep. The craziest part is this; brother I stopped taking Temazepam nightly. The dreams I now have are brutal but something was wrong man really wrong. I had deep dark thoughts after 48 hours every single time but I could not sleep. Now also on Lyrica 3x 75Mg daily; maybe this is helping me or tiring me? I don't know if it builds gradually or what but maybe it does more than what it seems on the surface which is nothing for my pain.

Maybe you are right. I'm sorry for writing this post, I did not mean to complain. It is just that when I wake up at 7AM i have to deal with the chronic pain where i was shot and the radiating numbness and all the suicidal thoughts that come with it man. Trying to figure out how to combat this pain is my objective and I guess the route of all of my posts or most of them. If you have any advice at all man I'm at a dark point and just need relief from this all man I am sorry for such a long read

This explain's your situation a bit more detailed. Totally get you, no need to be sorry but accepted gracefully.

But I can assure you I have been there and am still on the same boat. Could be you are carrying a bit more bagage, the trauma you mentioned. There was a period in my life that I wished to sleep and stay asleep so long as possible. Waking up in the middle of the night was an real pain back then. If necessary I downed some Kratom and have some Cannabis at 3:30 to dose back of.

So if you go to bed 23:00 and wake 7:00 wd is probably one of the causes like Zonxx mentioned. I would def feel uneasy at that time.

You mention nightmares and Clonazepam,

You probably have at least at much experience on that front. Why I mentioned Clonazepam as that seem s like the ultimate Benzo for sleep related disorder's like RLS and Bruxism. Maybe I am gloryfying but what is it like compared to the other's of the family.

Temazepam is gold, but congretulation's on stopping. All these changes in med's effect sleep and bring imbalances so no wonder. Do you smoke weed?
