Unsure if this goes here, correct me if I'm wrong!
I've had sleeping problems (I guess insomnia) my whole life. Two hours before I am supposed to go to sleep, I start to get anxiety. Half the time I cry. I've even thrown up because of it a couple times. During the week, I go to bed at 9 PM. Yes, that's right. I wake up at 6 AM. If I got to sleep right away, that would give me nine hours of sleep, yet I'm usually anywhere between 8 hrs (on a good night) or 5 or 6 (on bad nights). I toss and turn all night.
I find that it helps when I take melatonin. I usually go to bed and if I don't "feel tired" after an hour, I take melatonin. That is most nights I guess. Trying not for every day lol. Xanax helps me a lot but that's not a good habit to get into.
The thing is, I don't know what I'm scared of. There is nothing bad about sleep!
I generally work 10 hours a day and I am average active during the day? I don't go to the gym but I walk a LOT and I hoop (hula hoop). I don't have a ton of time to work out anyway, I do what I can. My job is high stress but my life is generally high stress.
I have severe anxiety about everything. But the sleeping part really take a toll on my life. Well general anxiety does too I guess.
Anyone know anything other than melatonin that could help? I've tried dipenhydromine (sp?) but that's a once a week type thing. Any other supplements that could be suggested? Anything is worth a try, I'd say!
(Or any other ways to get rid of this sleep anxiety)
