Sidewalk seedling.

When I was in high school, the weed smoking area in the trees behind the school was often used as a seed disposal site. One time me and some friends found several small seedlings starting just from people tossing their seeds in the dirt. I told everyone to just leave and them and make the cops come and take them... but someone stole them.

I got it!!! I was really freaked out too cause someone obviously marked out where it was. I panicked and I might have damaged the roots, not sure though, I am going to stay optimistic.

Well I got pictures for the naysayers but I think it is the real deal. It even smells lightly of pine needles and skunk.

I apologize in advance for the quality of the pics.

Let me know if those links work out alright.

The second photo is the only one where you can really tell for sure what it is. That's definately a cannabis seedling. You might want to put it in another cup with a little more soil in it so that it gets more light and is easier to transplant later. Toss that baby under a desk lamp and feed it filtered/bottled water with just a drop or two of lemon juice in it for a few weeks until it fills up that cup and you need to transplant it. Once you have it in a larger container you can start to give it a bit of fertilizer when you water. I hope your thumb is green, good luck!

Ok, I put it outside in a hidden yet sunny place. (not in direct sunlight thou.) I added more soil and watered it for the first time. How often do I water it from now on?

What is it with folks and desk lamps on here? Any problem, no matter how big or small... throw a desk lamp at it, it'll be fine, go on hahaha. Seriously though, plants dont grow under normal "desk lamps".

Update.

It looks like something is really going wrong. The plant is really drooping and the stem is really dry. The soil is still moist from when I watered it yesterday and I gave it another quick splash today. It only got half a day of good sunlight and it is really overcast today and is going to be like that the rest of the week. If things do not improve the next day or two I think I am going to pronounce it dead. :(

My bust. My desk lamp is a compact flourecent. I made the assumption that most people use flourecent lights as desk lamps. CFs are by far the best bulbs to use for anyone who is not trying to fill a whole room with plants (hell, I've even seen a few rooms done up very nicely with CFs and T5s).

Dude, it sounds like you are giving that little lady too much water. She also probably needs more light. If it was me I'd put her back in the cup and under a flourecent lamp, but you might not want to risk damaging the plant further by transplanting it again. It probably shouldn't go outside until the rootbase has filled the cup.

I don't have any spare FLs and I can't risk having it in my house. The sun is out now and if the plant does not make a recovery than tough, this whole thing just fell into my lap in the first place and I will be back at square one.

I just checked on it and it's leaves are not only drooping, but curling up. The roots must have got damaged when I removed it and are not soaking up water.

I was half expecting someone to jump on and say desk lamps are the answer to the economic downturn, world povertey and cancer. No worries mate, easy assumption to make.
