do you have any known food allergies? have you consumed mushrooms before?
ALL mushrooms (including common button) should be cooked before consumption for two reasons:
1. fungal tissue is composed of chitin which is incredibly hard for our stomachs to digest
2. depending on species, substrate, and condition... the mushrooms may have other fungi growing parasitically on them, insects eating the flesh, or bacteria. ideally, homegrown Ps. cubensis should be picked and well-dried at the height of freshness in a semi-sterile environment. wild cow patty mushrooms may have contamination issues but these are usually visible/smellable before consumption.
it is possible that you simply have an allergy to the mushrooms, or they were improperly dried and you had a bad reaction to some kind of bacteria feeding on the shrooms. were they cracker-dry (good) or soft and bendy (bad) when you got them? how were they stored? were the stems silvery-blue with golden caps (good) or were there any indications of black spots? (bad)
