I am a veteran pain pill abuser who used for other a decade and switched to methodone three years ago. Well ive went three weeks and its been hard but i found out my exs insurance will cover my 30 day detox and there fronting the plane ticket. Only bad part is ill come home to no job and no home but id be clean and ready to start over. If i stay i got a job and a place but im torn between this decision.

if you feel like rehab would help your chances of staying clean then the answer is a simple and important yes and if you haven't checked out AA/NA meetings a lot of people say they're bullshit but i've known more people who have gotten clean through AA/NA than any other way so imho they are worth looking into with an open mind

Hey man,i remember reading your other thread,if you think you cant do this alone(which is totally fine, most ppl cant) and things staying the way they are now will jeopardize your sobriety, your well being(as well as your familys) and all the efforts you done so far, then you should definately go.

Getting clean and feeling good will offer you plenty of room to find jobs and sort those things out,but if you dont manage your drug use then the job might be lost and all that will remain will be addiction.
Better imo to "invest" in your future than having "risk of ruin" thoughts over your head..

If your honestly ready to quit and keep an open mind I feel the 30 day rehabs have potential. Its nice to get out of the public to clear your head while your going through the shit as well. I wish you the best of luck.

Find out what the detox is going to do for you besides feed, house, and rob your insurance blind. IMO a sub taper will only prolong the pain. I wouldn't take any long lasting opiate at this point. I know how rough it's been man but your so close to the hump so to speak. Now im not saying sunshine and rainbows are going to pop out at day 30 but the storm will begin to subside. It sounds like your cracking up under the combo of no sleep and feeling like death would be a fine option. Fuck I got chills just then thinking about it. Look my no bullshit advice is to take a day off withdrawal by using either loperamide, hydrocodone those are preferences because they are cheap and readily available. But for real ANY short acting opiate will do the job. During that day you eat a big ass meal and rehydrate with Gatorade then SLEEP. You'll feel strong again tommorow and don't worry the kick will continue but the duration won't be extended much longer. Suboxone just has a gnarly half life even a 5-6 day taper is going to throw away your progress. That would be a shame to suffer that Badly for nothing. I know personally I would rather be sick at home where i control the comfort meds and situation.

Your right crimson. My stomach problems are starting to subside, im exercising a little, but these chills are bad and there always with me and all i do is kick myself for all my screw ups. Maybe its paws but thursday makes 30 days and i pray for the day i can be me again. I just wanna work, be a good father, and put this behind me but i really screwed up alot. I got to earn respect again, prove im not a junkie to my kids family, and stay clean but ill die before going back. Maybe this punishing detox is my reminder what ive done to myself and my life. Thank you for your honesty. I feel like you really understand this prison im in.

Got baths for the chills or even better if you can access a hot tub or jacuzzi. Don't kill yourself with excersize you don't wanna be sore and I bet your body is starving anyway from lack of appetite. The purpose is just to try and jump start endorphin production. Try not to kick yourself emotionally. This isn't the time. You literally have a lifetime to do that if you want. Keep your head up and eye on the ever closer prize
