For future reference man, if you send through USPS and someone comes to your door asking to sign, don't do it, it means your package got intercepted by the Feds and they're tryin to arrest you.
That aint true yo. Theres several kinds of mail that require a signature--Delivery Confirmation for one. Mail that the sender NEEDS to madke sure you get requires a signature. It dont mean its the Feds.
now, if you ordered a package and yiou KNOW the sender didnt do it delivery confirmation and sent it regular style, and then you get a knock like Wolfman described then you got somethin to be suspicious of, but dont forget that it dont mean that automatically you should be scared if a postal worker shows up askin for a signature. Fedex and UPS aint the only services that require signatures for package receipts.
Both my folks worked in the USPS for 30+ years, the only career either of em evver had--I know this shit inside and out lol.
For the record....People like to hate on the post office...but alot of times people dont realize that alot of the times when theres a prob. with the mail they did something wrong. For example if you get the zip code wrong, that can send your mail on a long side trip. Machines sort letters by zip code, and then the mail gets sent out to the local post offices with that zipcode where it belongs. When it goes to get cased by the carriers, then they look at it and be like....Yo....New Brunswick is NOT 08053, and then it has to get corrected and resent out or returned to the sender depending on where you at and how busy it is--some carriers will be like "I get it, you said new brunswick, Ill send it there, thats where tha address is" but it might get returned to you becuz they cant just look at it and "know" which one you meant--maybe you meant the zipcode you said and wrote the wrong TOWN, etc.
Im just pointin out the reasons shit happens--and yea, sometimes if you did NOTHING wrong, theres still delays and problems, but just remember that when it comes to properly addressed mail with proper amounts of postage, 99% of it gets to where its suppose to be going to. Theres a small percent of mail that gets lost, etc, but most of the people who claim their shit got lost is to cover up a mistake they made on their end and are too embarassed to admit so they blame the P.O.
Im sorry if im soundin like a post office commercial lol. There are bad carriers out there for sure who cant do shit right, deliver things to the wrong houses constantly, and just mangle the mail delivery, and once in a while you hear about the letter carriers with like...boxes of mail stashed in their basements....but they go to jail for that shit. I aint sayin its perfect but the USPS is overall a extremely good deal for your money.
Most of the time there are any complaints its when people dont want to take the extra 50 cents or a dollar to upgrade the level of mail they are sending so they send it Media Mail then complain when it takes weeks and weeks. Media mail is lower than even bulk mail, like catalogs and phone books. If you want somethin to go quick, Pay 5 dollars and send it priority mail--it WILL get there within 2-3 days. I fuckin love priority mail, and Ive ordred tons of shit online with Fedex, UPS, etc, and I really prefer usin USPS, its cheaper, and more reliable IMO.
I didnt mean to get off topic but i just wanted to point out before pepole start bein like "aww the post office suxxxxx it took the OPs package too long", cuz they really do a damn good job considering they deliver over 40% of the worlds mail.
