I'm in a lot of pain tonight. I have really bad "headaches" they are in the back of my skull and in my face and at the moment behind my eye. I have these several times a week. They have done MRIs and find no abnormalities.

Right now I'm in a lot of pain. I've tried 150mg Tramadol that the Dr gives me, 1mg Klonopin, 2 bowls of good quality weed, ate something, a long period of massage on the area that hurts and my back and I'm going to try a hot bath.

I'm running out of ideas guys. I need some help with pain management right now. :(

Moving this to HL.

I have no extra suggestions though hun, sorry!! I only hope that you get some relief soon.

The marijuana could be making it worse though. Sometimes I get a headache from smoking too much.

Also, as I always suggest to you when you mention your headaches, make sure you've had plenty of water to drink.

Good luck <3

Try a physical therapist. Sometimes tight muscles in your back and neck cause similar headaches for me. Check yourself, are you tensing your muscles? If so, you have to remind yourself to relax.

I don't know much about this but I do know Tramadol is a synthetic weaker version of codeine.

You might want to try going to the pharmacy and asking for Tylenol 1's. Or getting aspirin with codeine and looking up how to do a cold water extraction. Just don't go overboard, and don't take too many. I'm only recommending this because it seems like you are in a lot of pain. Obviously it can be addictive and of course you don't want to take too many aspirins or tylenols.

That mixed with the Clonazepam might be more effective. Or it might get you really high.

Just make sure you research if you decide to try this.

breathing, meditation, distraction - doing something that gets your adrenaline going and or you can get really in to, ever considered a MMORPG? Those things will make you forget about everything else in life lol

humor, hanging out with good friends, calling an old friend who you haven't talked to in a while. I too have MRI-defying, mystery life-long pain. It is in my leg so I imagine it is a bit less attention grabbing than head pain but anything to do that allows me to not think of the pain helps greatly.

when I get migraines I take a shower and it helps tremendously. just let the hot water run over your head. works like a charm for me.

unfortunately the headache usually comes back after I get out, but it's awesome for the time I'm in there.

I suffer from acute daily headaches. I had an MRI and an EEG done, which both came back normal. First I tried Inderal, which didn't work. Then, topomax (couldnt handle the side effects). Then tried depakote, and that made me manic.

Now I take Verapamil. It's a calcium channel blocker. It works pretty well. Instead of getting 3 headaches a day, I get one mild headache a day. My neurologist also gave me tylenol 3 to take for my really bad headaches.

Triptans didn't work for me (ie: maxalt etc). They made me feel weird, maybe because I'm on an SSRI. I figured my neurologist would know that you shouldn't mix the two, but alas, another moronic Dr.

I've been taking depo provera for years....

As far as Fioricet with codeine, I can't take it. The barbs make my brain come unhinged.
