Hello everyone , I am considering using ketamine to treat my untreatble ( as I heard ) depression , my question is : does seroquel will block the effects of ketamine (if so then how long should I stop taking it in order to ketamine works ) , I do really need help on this one , I am planning to take 50 or 100 mg of ketamine (IV) , I have been on 150 mg of seroquel for over a year and it is the only and final dose for me , any information on this topic will be greatly appreciated , thank U !!

Okay, so I just wrote a huge post on how ket does not solve problems, so I'm not gonna write it again. However, to sum it up, even though it'll make things better for a while, it'll fuck things up really fast. I find it difficult to believe that anyone's depression is completely untreatable, regardless of what you're told. Plus, speaking from experience, taking ketamine when you're depressed to make yourself feel better is such a terrible idea - you get so used to the reward and relief that it gives you, that it consumes your life incredibly quickly. Think about that before you do this. Do you really want the long term effects on your health? I can assure you, they alone make depression considerably worse. You may feel really awful right now, and you probably don't feel like you particularly care about the effect it will have on you, but a few months into ketamine abuse I can guarantee you'll feel a lot worse.

Talking therapies, medications and various other ways of dealing with debilitating depression aren't easy, and they don't offer the same quick fix, but they're better for your mind and body in the long run. I really, really strongly advise against you doing this, even though you will do it anyway. I destroyed my life, and my body, as did many of my friends, for the sake of trying to relieve depression. Now we're all paying the price, and it's a long uphill struggle. If I'd have dealt with my problems in the first place I wouldn't be struggling so much now.

Thank you for your concern and advises ,I completley agree with you that facing the problems and try to fix them during time is S better and probebly much more perfound idea to go Thorw but the deal is that I already tried all the possible treatments out there witch including many different medications from manny different class of anti depressant and been on CBT therapy for over Two years with very little result , during five years time of treatment I even tried ECT (electric shock ) with absloutly no benefit , so thats why I am considering ketamine Cuz there is no more option on the table , thank you , Be good !

Seroquel doesn't stop NMDA antagonists
If you want Ketamine therapy, you can go about it legally they do it at pretty much every major hospital in my state probably yours too...
Keep in mind you are not a neurologist... if you are gonna go about that, maybe do it the right way?

Well that's right but the problem is that I live in Sweden and I am so far away from countries that offer offlable ketamine for depression witch in this case will be us or australia ,( I could not found any in europe thought ) besides the clinics that offers the treatment gonna charge people like couple Thousand dollers for a few infusion , (3800 $ for six infusions the one I found 'and 600 $ per infusion ) , so that's the deal , thank you for your Reply ,,

This might spark up an argument but maybe try ECT?
Has an 80% effectiveness rate vs 23% effectiveness rate for medications
In the US it is used to treat bipolar, schizophrenia, depression, and schizoaffective.
It is done at all major hospitals in my state and I've heard many success stories, it is performed in Sweden and will be covered by your health care system if approved by a psychiatrist, who is also covered by your health care system.

I hate to tell that but I have tried that too , 8 session with no result , it was Like Two years ago , I have a real deal of depression that is very treatment resistent !!!

Standard treatment is 10-15 sessions before most patients experience benefit.
then an additional treatment every 6 months for maintanence.

I think you are right but that was the doctors decision to not give any more ETC , probebly due to result failure !

Sekio would have a good HR answer to this.
