Hi folks just a quick que
Stion,as serequel is a mental health tab. Can someone who takes it reguarly or knows a lot about it , now I currently take between 75 and 300 for sleep but I keep hearing all these horror stories about it. I first tried it about 5 yrs ago in an english prison it was called serial killer and the name sort of scared me , so eventually me being me I spoke to a bloke who was buying it , he told me he was paying a quarter of burn(tobacco) for a 300mg which was a lot he said, I then spoke to the actual guy who was getting it medically 3x300 so 1 3 times a day so I thought 300mg was the highest dose now I know its not but ive still only seen a 300mg I had 20x150mg but 3 different colours and shapes peach(round) white(oblong) and another sort of dark peach(round), all 150mgs, it bloody knocked me for 6 first time and that was just 100 so I ask whats it really prescribed for as ive been called crazy for taking it, why I dont know suppose thats why im on here asking and is it very addictive as ive stopped taking it no sleep for 2 nights but im ok , after 5 weeks on it

I take quetiapine. Both the modified release and standard. Altogether, I take 350mg a day. It's to help with depression and anxiety. I also take an antidepressant, Diazepam (unfortunately), and pregabalin. I'm prescribed quetiapine and have been taking it for about 4 years. All others are prescribed too. It has helped, and it certainly helps with sleep.

There are horror stories about every mental health medication. I don't bother listening to it, unless it's something my psychiatrist has specifically mentioned. With quetiapine, it's increased blood glucose and increased cholesterol. As such, I have regular blood tests. It can make inherited heart problems worse, but my ECGs have all come back fine.

Seroquel is a fantastic drug for psychosis and even depression sometimes. I was one of the unlucky ones that got a heart problem from 600mg nightly dose. I got prolonged QT. In other words a severe heart problem. It was picked up while I was in the psych ward. about 6 years ago. Now I have a heart implant.
My story isn't common but it's always worth taking breaks from antipsychotics when possible.

My doctor prescribed Seroquel so I could take it eventually when in order to sleep. I can't use benzos as I am sober now so this was the only option he found for my problem. And it does work in a sense that I sleep well, but the next day is so slow and lethargic. There is no enough coffee in this world capable to light my day. But every here and then I use it so that I can sleep properly. I would only wish it wouldn't last for such a long time.

I have read that some people use it for depression and for me it's a question mark as the effects make me really down. And I'm talking about the 200 mg dose, most times divided in two halves. It sounds counterproductive from my perspective, but I know others have had good results.

Hi folks sorry for the prolonged thanx, well am still taking it down to 75mg per night, whoever says horror stories are right and yes we all have minds of our own, im tapeing off diazepam and methadone bits at a time like I got from 20mg to 10mg of diazepam now im staying on 10 and tapering the meth like 1mg every 3 days then I stop say on 37ml for 3 days 36,35,34 for 3 days so like that slow but good. When I get to 20ml id av halfed my dose so then al switch back to the diazepam and go from 10 to 5 leave the meth at 20 see how I feel maybe stay at 20 and 5 for a bit ,hope ur not lost and I do believe there,s no other way for me as ive tried quicker tapers and have failed and the serequels a must I panic like now I got 300mg to last me to tuesday so it will be 6dosesof 50mg its hard to cut up a razor blade is best . So good luck to all ya thanx for help and im here too for u all
