The 500:5 law takes into account the scumbags that cut their gear 100:1. ;)

This law says more about the drug dealers than it does about the law makers...

so they mean 500g of pure? i'm confused. would they test it when you're busted then?
 
Whenever I've read on the "DEA Microgram Report" - which comes out monthly on the web and is well worth a read - about seizures of coke in larger quantites (kilogram loads and more) they always say how pure the coke is and the figures are always around the 75 - 85% purity mark.

But I too would like to know how the cops/authorities go about deciding how pure someone's shit is and how much total weight to prosecute for.....
 
The other side of this coin is prosecuting recreational Oxycontin, Vicodin, etc sales the same way as heroin sales. This isn't necessarily a good thing.
 
i can see why they originally had 5g's of crack= 5 years prison.
thats enough drugs to be INTENT TO DISTRIBUTE. think about it this way:

A crack dealer on the side of the street, he has a pocket full of "points" (0.1 grams). all together, he most likely doesn't have more than 5 grams on him. that would be 50 baggies!
So if the cops find someone with 5 grams of crack, theres a good chance that he's not a street dealer. he could very well be the mid-level dealer SUPPLYING the street dealers.

Just my 2 cents. but i could be wrong, ive never even seen crack before :)
 
sounds pretty good to me shit if u cook it dammit it's hard so technically the same shit in a different form. might as welll get the same sentence
 
Does this statute define the weight in terms of the crude preparation or in terms of actual cocaine? (I.E. would 5 grams of crack of 30% purity invoke the statute?)
 
Love how again they didnt mention 5 grams of crack is still a hefty amount of crack and will allow you to get high a few more times than 5 grams of blow would. Unless I'm missing something (I know nothing about crack, have no experience with it, but enjoy quality coke.. in large amounts of course haha). Can anyone tell me how much more "product" 5 grams of crack is than 5 grams of yayo?
 
fuck that make pot legal now then we can get to making drugs like crack and meth (that ruin lives) Decriminalized, come on Obama!

I think addiction potential makes the difference. People who commit suicide are trying to die, drug users are not (at least not me), so drugs pose more of a "danger" to society as a whole.
 
why would law enforcement do a purity test. its like if you got arrested with 100g and your defense was "its not that much, check the purity". The logic on there side is either you cut it to the weight or you possessed it at that weight; so no matter what you still possesed 100g.
 
Ok Obama, how about legalizing h or morphine maintenance instead of just deathadone(methadone) and suboxone.
 
They might as well. Considering how much blow and H is shipped through the CIA. Could just make some scripts out of it. Then, i can go to the pharmy and be happy. So can they for making profit.
