I posted this past Friday about having to take klonopin due to a panic attack. About one year ago I finished my taper from klonopin after being on it for about 10 months and despite feeling mostly back to normal, I still had a few lingering symptoms. So on Friday (I'm an idiot, I know) I took klonopin for a panic attack. In addition, I took about 4-5 10 mg Ambiens that night. To put a long story short, I've been going into intense panic tonight and have had major withdrawal symptoms come back. I can't sleep at all, I can't sit still, negative thoughts and depression, dilated pupils, and waves of anxiety and panic. I am wondering if I am at risk for having a seizure? I know its hard to predict, but because of my past history with benzos and the severity of my symtpoms after only one day of chronic usage, I'm concerned that I will seize in the next few days as I get over the acute withdrawal phase.

Thanks in advance for any info.

Probably not, if it's a short-term thing.
if you have a history of seizures I would seek medical attention though.

The acute withdrawal is the worst, hang in there.

Thanks for your reply. I have actually never been through an "acute phase" as my previous withdrawal was slowly tapered. These feelings are more closely attune to what people say happens when they c/t. Do you know of average time frames for the worst of it pass? Taking into consideration that I only had one chronic dose?

Yea you should go to the doctor. They will help you to taper down as benzodiazepine withdrawal can be life threatening in severe cases.
