Salvia and weed

Last night we were passing a blunt around but I notice my friend had one all to his self and I was like "what r u smoking ?" And they were like" its salvia that we got from ocean city and it's legal" . So I wanted to take a hit but my friend wouldn't let me for some reason . When I smoke weed it only takes me like 2 hits and I'm already fried so u can say I'm a light weight . But why wouldn't my friends let me smoke the salvia ? Is it bc I'm a light weight and couldn't handle it? Would I be tripping really bad ? Im thinking about trying it tonight And is it smart to smoke it with weed ? I never heard of salvia till last night . Thanks

I might be wrong but im pretty sure salvia has to be bonger/piped? the temp in a j/blunt isnt high enough? Also salvia is very very intense and some people hate it

Unless he had some extract in that blunt (Im assuming the blunt was just salvia leaves) then you wouldnt trip at all. I have smoked many blunts and joints of salvia leaves and all it will do is give you a certain type of high. In order to "trip" on salvia you need extract and usually a bong, since you need to take deep inhalations.

Also you can chew fresh leaves as a quid or make a cold water infusion.

Your friend was probably just being stingy because legal salvia is usually expensive I think. But yeah try it out in a bong or pipe with some weed. We can't tell you how hard you'll trip, but if you find yourself tripping too hard just remind yourself it won't last long (it won't at all). I'm not sure if you have to put it on weed, but thats the only way I've seen it/did it. Also you'd probably get better answers in the psychedelic board.

P.S. I didn't trip but my friend said it was awesome.
