Contrary to conventional down-tubes, the opening end of the diffuser's tube is first sealed and then pierced with small holes. This means better distribution of the smoke as it rises in many small bubbles. The diffuser option is suited to anyone who likes a milder smoke.

if the bottom is sealed, wont this clog everyhit???? anyone use this how well does it work?

I think youre right. Although it can obviously be done, I dont think iv ever seen any body smoke from a Roor bong without an ash catcher. Maybe thats why...?

I have a Ehle and it has a diffuser...it doesn't get clogged, even though I don't have an ash catcher, and don't always use ice to cool it down. I don't have a RooR, but I'm workin on the assumption that a designer diffuser = a designer diffuser.

I've never used an actual RooR downstem, but I have used one that was pretty similar to that design. They really don't get that clogged. If you are really worried about it and don't have an ashcatch, don't suck every bowl through, cash it out and dump out the ash. It'll keep your bong a lot cleaner that way as well.

i use a roor with a diffuser with no ash catcher or anything. it works fine n i dont use a screen or anything in my bowl. but if you are that concerned use a screen; metal or glass.

i used to own a diffuser like this with my RooR, until it broke. It will get clogged alot if you pull you're cached bowls through, but if you cache your bowls into an ashtray or whatever, it won't get clogged as much. or even better just use a screen so it can't pull through. also get an ashcatcher. dont just use the diffuser alone.
