Serious roommate ok? what is this

my roommate has begged me to help her taper, but then left this box out on her desk. I don’t know what the black strips are and don’t want to confront her about them. Can anyone give me a clue what I’m dealing with?

I want to be able to talk to her some more, but know what it is
