PA parties?

I hear a magnitude of stories from my old head friends and I am realizing more and more that my culture has lost the edge to having great parties. Being out of High School less than a year, I have noticed that we have been preceeded by hippies, ravers, clubbers, and the likes who made their time being young worthwhile. I want to find some people who are still into keeping some scene... any scene... alive.
 
Yeah everywhere in PA kinda sucks with the exception of Phili and Pittsburg. I live near harrisburg and there is pretty much no scene...especially for us underagers...

In about 2 weeks I will be living up here in Pennsylvania, in Wilkes-Barre, with 2 fellow Bluelighters. I'm originally from the Baltimore, MD area. I'm sure I'll go back "home" to DC to party because no place can top my favorite DC weekly :p And I really don't think there is much to do around here.

Ive been to some small parties in the wilkes barre/scranton area. I've been to this place called 'the hip spot' and a couple of jams at the murray warehouse. That was a bomb spot :) Besides wilkes barre area... yeah, NE PA was my favorite scene 2-4 years ago. We used to go to this place glenwood all the time, all the CU parties, before they went south to allentown... Lots of good times. I live east of scranton wilkes barre, rite off of 84. Next state. :)
 
I'm sorry but I've been in Wilkes-Barre for a month now and I refuse to believe there is a scene :\ And I refuse to believe that all the party kids in this town don't live in this apartment with me ;)

Of course I haven't given it a chance and I still go home to Baltimore or DC for parties =D And I still will :p

There was, you're about 3 years to late. Been to some outdoors in the poconos too. That was about 4-5 years ago. Good times, plenty of 'em. Then something happened and NE PA developed some type of 'rave task force'.

Well that sucks. Technically I've been to one party in PA and it was 3 years ago... it was thrown by a Baltimore based production company though, but they happened to land this "great" ( 8) ) venue in PA. Party sucked and it was their last (though that was mostly because that party and the couple before that weren't very profitable). Even though a lot of Baltimore and DC kids came out to party, there was still a noticeable difference in the overall feel of the night since the party was in another state. Or maybe I'm just weird and I notice stupid things? ;)

Either way, I think it's funny how apparently NE PA has developed a "rave task force" as you say... and the cops here don't do shit else. PA's version of highway law enforcement is giant billboard signs saying "buckle up, every time" and "slow down, save a life" there are no cops around EVER (*knocks on wood*) :D

Aint that the truth, I totally whip it on 84/81. PA is a commonwealth, so they are really tough on 'partying'. Well, they are really tough on drugs, and think raves are just thrown to sell drugs... But yeah, seriously, it was the best scene a few years ago. Most of the NE PA partykids I dont seem to see around anymore though, I guess they all just kind of gave up.... I dont know what party you are talking about, but last summer there was golden ticket, in jim thorpe, PA... which totally rocked! It was somewhat underground too... DJ Niko throws a rocking birthday party every september too, I'll ask him if I can post the infoline here next time... or I'll pm you if you're interested in house parties maybe? They happen in the poconos/stroudsburg area. That scene is pretty dead too, but occasionally some local djs get a reason to celebrate =D

I figure at some point I'm going to have to give in and try a PA party ;) DC and Baltimore are always in my heart but goddamn are they a long drive just to dance my ass off and have fun ;)
 
Hershey/Hummelstown here. Is anyone going to HACC (Harrisburg Area Community College)?? I am going for graphic design. Let me know...

BTW: Any good parties in my area coming up?
