Hello,

Long time reader, first time posting!

I was just curious if anyone out there has any recommendations for rehab centres in British Columbia. I have decided that I need to take the step and admit myself to a program but am very confused as to which one is right for me. Does anyone have any recommendations for centres? Or know of any Canadian phone lines or directories that can help match me with the right centre?

Oh and I am going privately, no government funding, so it needs to be a private institute.

Thank you very much in advance for any advice or assistance.

Thank you for the warm welcome and link :)

Here is a little bit about myself:
I am 25 years old and have been an addict for 11 years. I started off using meth. I have used all types of drugs over the years and experimented with different things, but as of the last 4 years my drugs of choice are oxy and cocaine (speed balling). I used to use drugs to add spice to my nights out, and use them more recreationally. But the past few years I have been using almost every day and anytime the opportunity presents itself, sometimes when I am alone as well. I find I am at the point where I can't function without them and have no energy unless I am using. My health has had a terrible decline. I am sick all the time, my stomach lining is ruined and my nose is raw, sore, and getting scabs and hopes inside. 2 months ago I moved back in with my parents, took a week off work, and detoxed (one of the worst experiences of my life). I used subboxin to detox. I was clean for 3 weeks and relapsed (although not doing nearly as much oxy as I used to). 2 weeks ago I ODed on GHB and alchohol and ended up in emergency. An hour after getting out I proceeded to do about 300$ of blow and drank a mickey. It's almost like I am subconsciously trying to kill myself. Me and family have decided that rehab is my only hope. I've done every sort of councelling available as well as NA and AA and nothing helps. I am planning on going to rehab in January but am very overwhelmed with all the options. I need some guidance as to which one is right for me.

Thanks for sharing that spakitten:).. you seem to be using like I used to.. disposal for allot of different drugs;) and my drug of choice was also a speed ball either opiates and coke or booze and coke were my favorites. Have you been to rehab before? I would look at a few things.. how much of a chance did you give the fellowships of NA and AA, cause if you aren't aware allot of twelve step based rehabs just are an intense introduction to the fellowships. Are you physically dependent on the opiates now? I can get clean and stay clean from where i was at so can you.. I hit it really really hard for a long time. This is awesome though that you are so young.. looks like you are realizing early that the good part of drug use has left or is fading fast and now its time to move onto another chapter.. that's great as with a little effort you will be able to skip the parts where it gets ugly and really lame=D

Here are some links.. Smart is another approach to addiction that can be used in conjunction with or with out the fellowships.
