Through the darkness the souls tredded
Amongst the mush and twines and vines
of blood.
Doors being opened along the way
to show more blacklight
Than black could swallow
Monsters looming with talons still
Stinkin from the prey killed yesterday.
So many have walked and never walked out
And yet so many keep walking in again.
Curiosity...
One more...
What if...
One more...
Why not...
One more..
Sure..
One more..
Gettin closer..
One more..
Too close..
One more...
The end..
No more???
One more!!!
He's gasping for breath now
Blue. Eyes wide open
Looking through a door closing shut.
The end?
She reaches across the rectangle around them
Finds his hands
Holds his hands
He knows he's going to be alright now.
And I know he's glad she loves him .

keep up the good work!

writnpage,
You just perfectly described my experiences last Friday night. It is almost scary. Thank you for this beautiful piece. Isn't love great, even in a sea of thousands of people jammed into one venue?

Caress

Oh Caress, I so much want to write that I'm so happy you can relate to my poem, but I'm not since you've probably had a really bad drug/crowd related experience

I hope I'm way off, but if not, I'm really sorry to learn that.
Still I'm glad you had love around you to guide you into safety and comfort.
Loads of luvs,

Amina,
Thank you for your ever-present sensitivity and love. Thank you, also, for your gift of words.
Yes, there were some unfortunate events Friday...A guy was carried out just two feet in front of us and later passed away. (See PVD at Twilo thread in Meetups - NY Post link).

But you are right, love was there in person, at my side, guiding me through the crowds of madness. We had each other and our wonderful friends.
Sometimes life's experiences are a little too bittersweet.
I wish you love,
Caress
