Sure you've meet a few randoms in your travels. Was out on Monday night and was accosted by this odd person who ask me questions about Eqyptology. Grinned and them buggered off.
Now I have a question for you. Do you ignore, stare in wonder or quickly run away? I suppose the answer depends on drug of choice.
And either way. What is your random? I know a random hugger, random roacher, random snogger, what other randoms are there??
 
I'm always up for a random freak out when tripping, but then isnt everyone?
 
Randoms are great!!! I've met heaps of my friends as randoms and I picked up my current g/f on the train at 5am when she came up to me and told me I looked like a "F@#king mess" and asked me where i'd been to end up looking so buggered.
 
Best thing to do is sit them down and tell them everything you know about that subject. Chances are you will 1: Educate them 2: Make them wonder if they are crazy or you are 3: Scare the fuk out of them and they'll leave.
Either way you get to have a chuckle....

randoms are an essential part of the club scene. they are the people that turn up at your friends house on a scatterday that *nobody* knows. they are the people that answer your questions when they are eavesdropping. they are the people that freak you out when you get paranoid because they arent in your tight circle of friends. they are the people that appear to belong until they turn out to be complete freaks.
randoms are a social consequence of drugs. only the drugs that break down social barriers allow the *random* to exist.
now imagine a david attenborough doco on randoms -
"the random dwells in nightclubs and in an evironment called "the scene". it can be identified by the blatant way it approaches people is has never met and attempts to communicate with them. etc..."

Don't feel bad Mikey - I didn't know what they were either. I thought you just called them freeloaders, hangers-on or wankers!
 
I love randoms and meeting randoms, some of them can be so interesting, especially if you are both on the same level (or taking the same drug, whatever.) Some of the coolest people i have met have been randoms and i have made some really good freinds out of random peoples. Bewars the dodgy ones though that just scam or steal shit from you or fuck you over, the sweetest ones always do this!!!
Dont like random hugs usually, unless talk to person first, usually like random conversations with whoever is nearest to me, and then maybe some other random things.

Damn randoms! I'm not a snob by any chance, and I'm all up for the pat on the back - "you're rocking hard, buddy!", etc. etc blah! But fuuuuck... when randoms really outstay their welcome, and decide that there is a cosmic bond between you and them, which causes them to follow you around, usually accompanied by the phrase "IreallylikeyouIjusthadasmackypillandIwanttotalktosomeone".
Theres times when I'm just too nice to say "fuck off or I'll set your Pikachu backpack alight and use it to burn your car".
 
randoms rock!! i love the way they can help to recall such a massive portion of a night!! like...ummm....GC last year at the sheds, the only way i can attempt to recall that party (which i still can't do very well at all) is by remembering this random from adeliade we met named millsy, (no, not jeff) but he didn't mind if we called him pillsy

pillsy was just this insane guy that had been going out for about a week straight...he started in adelaide, and had been to brissy and sydney before he finally got down to melb...he was insane

the schumacher randoms...they gave me lots of ciggies...and these two chicks, both married and with their hubbies there, started scoring each other up the front..their hubbie's just smiled

jonesy won twister up the back of the hardware floor at 2tribes...just before bolland came on...we gave him a little medal

chris at 2t...i think it was one of his first parties...and he just sorta latched onto our little group, and we made it our mission to make sure he had an insane night..at the end he was starting to come down, and we just grabed his hands, made him stand up, and just started dancing round him till he was full rockin again...
the two silver chicks at PvD were just best friends, khandi as hell, and we did this massive groupd huge just as we were all peaking..unforgettable...
des and sarah at wet003 give the best massages ever!! i was getting repeated peaks every time one of em gave me a massage...des now works in melb central so i get to see her heaps, and we still laff about it. so i spose she's not overly random....
best thing is also seeing randoms out at another party a couple months later!! specially the unique ones..they always make the night

i was almost a random on the melbourne scene xcept i was fortunate to meet one of my closest friends before i got there who then introduced me to my now other close friends...and so random no more!
some of my good party pals were randoms...sometimes they became better friends than just party pals and sometimes they're just kids u look forward to seeing at the next party and sometimes u never see them again but always look. but i guess there are annoying ones too...*shrug*
also in the definition of a random raver are those who just go out for a big name or to a megarave because thats what they think the scene is and they go to take drugs and be cool...and then think they are a 'raver'.

Beginning to look at randoms a whole new way......... hang on a second. What attracts randoms? Bright colours. What?? Are they like moths? Burning their backpacks would only bring more, and then it would be all a bit too much to deal with. A puddle of randoms. You wouldn't be able to escape, or get a word in.......
