RCs random (non sourcing) question about rc vendors in general

i recently started ordering through an awesome place, but i made the mistake of ordering between christmas and new years and not only was the tracking # never updated leading to alot of wasted gas checking my po box, but they told me, if it didnt show up by the middle of next week, let them know and they would resend. still not showing up, so they resent right away, very nice of them. so i went friday and bam! my order from december (4 weeks roughly to arrive when i paid express shipping, which giving the holiday season, they cant be help responsible, they sent it out the day after payment was accepted. but monday...i got the 2nd letter they resent and i was honest and told them i had received both packacges, and felt like an idiot being slightly new (only placed 3 or 4 orders) and told them thanks but that i also didnt feel right getting a medium size order for free. they told me to just send them a custom payment covering 1/3 of the order (which was really fair) and i want to stay on good terms with these guys. very nice and professional people.

i just was hoping they'd maybe let it slide since it took 4 weeks instead of 1 to get to me, but i want to keep them happy so i agreed to send them just a blank payment covering 1/3 of the order. im just wondering if this is a normal business practice for an article that is resent? im totally fine with doing that, i have just never heard of them wanting me to pay that. most vendors (it seems like) would say, just keep it, sorry it took so long. i dont mind paying them back before doind more business with them, just curious if anyones ever had to do something similar to this. thanks for any input. i plan on paying them friday, and placing a new order next week so i will let you guys know how it goes. but thanks for reading this and im hoping for a few educated comments. thanks again guys and gals -aphex
 
Never happened to me with a RC vendor before, but I have some experience with a similar thing on ebay. Waited about 4 weeks for the package to arrive, message the seller that I still hadn't gotten anything, they say no problem, will send again. Next week I get both packages on the same day and the dates on the envelopes confirmed no foul play on the sellers part. I told the seller what happened, offered to send back the extra package, but they told me not to worry and just keep both.
 
^thats cool. i would have preferred it went that way, since all i even got were samples of a few things, but paying 1/3 on a full order is cool, but yeah it seemed a little odd for sure. but i trust these guys. good stuff man, glad that worked out for ya!
