Radical Islam is the scourge of humanity

Not without doxxing myself, hon.

Would you think they'd be protestant or something? I'm in the US, not a lot of Eastern Orthodox here.

Can we get back to the part where we all agree that terrorism is bad and wrong, radical religions are bad, people are human beings.

We're still sort-of fighting two fucking wars over there, never mind that might be related to the Spain attack, even if one of them yelled Allah as he drove. It's another case where right-wing cultivates overreaction to the religion so that you miss the troops over there, and the constant bombing.

Yes, overreacting, going from two teens who are muslim by default coming from the region to "Scourge of humanity" is overreacting. Not the feeling bad about the victims or hating the drivers, just taking that and applying it to a religion as a whole, is overreacting.

Before you pull out the ah hAH! didn't you do that in charlottesville, therefore everything you said is void? I never said we should ban white people or wipe them from the Earth. THat would be major overreaction.

It depends upon where you live in the United States. You're on the West Coast in central California. There are 3 Orthodox churches in Fresno.

On the East coast where I live there are a lot of orthodox churches but we have a lot of people who are from or have a heritage from Russia, the Ukraine, Latvia, Greece, Serbia, Croatia, Albania, and other countries where most people are orthodox.

Thank you, yeah SWIM told me there's a lot of Armenians in Fresno. Obviously there are denominational clusters in the US.

Of course, they're all Christian. Most news outlets don't bother with the sects involved. It's sufficient that he's from the middle east; all actions are terrorism, and all motives strictly due to Islam.

Hey, fuck 'em, I agree. You guys like adding to the narrative. How about the broader picture of going on 15 years of war in the region, in two nations, with routine drone strikes over "friendly" territory. I'm sure it has nothing to do with the attacks, and we know for a FACT as soon as we saw they were swarthy, it was Islam's fault. Hey fuck Islam too.

Trust me, I hate all religions with a passion!! (except for Buddhists, they generally dont bother anyone).
But radical Islam kills 100X more people than any other religion does. Thats a fact!

Those 150 murders in your town were not done in the name of religion, they were probably just gang-bangers knocking each other off, or domestic disputes. Radical Islam is much more dangerous because they kill random, innocent people plus they try to kill as many people as possible.

If those 9/11 hijackers couldve killed 10,000 instead of 2,000, you know they would have

I'll answer. There's part of the bible where God commands the entire genocide of cities. Sometimes it's severe - kill everything, including the livestock. Sometimes, it's less severe - just killing all the men, all the married or widowed women, and keeping the unmarried female war captives for yourself (i.e. rape). There's even a command to kill anyone to preaches other gods.

It's a quite violent book, which few people seem familiar with
The Bible is just as bad as the Koran, but how many Christians are acting out whats written in the OT?? Very few.
I dont see the Christian equivalence of ISIS anywhere in the world, do you??

Well, there were the muslims in the van, and a mosque was bombed by Christians here . . .

Just realized, you're not in the US so I don't have to worry about policy votes from you, so I should eject, let you discuss why Christians are superior or whatever. Sorry, I'm gone.

I thought I'd let this thread go and see if it generated anything new but it hasn't. Same old tedious antiislam stuff. Bluelight just isn't the platform for this.

Lord's Resistance Army probably came the closest in recent years. There's also Army of God that was active in the US, and probably a few supremacy churches still around. Before that, there's the Catholics and Protestants during the Troubles.

But generally speaking, to get a religious fever that's dangerous, you need instability. Get people feeling like they have nothing, get them angry, and then start selling them a strain of religion that allows them to strike out against others - be it Christian, Muslim, whatever.
