quick ? about soma

can someone that has experience with this drug please help me out wit a few questions
1.does it cause physical dependency
2.if i subsitute one night soma and the next night with xanax will that prevent withdrawl from both
3.is it a benzo? i know its not exactly a benzo but my main concern is that the days when i dont take xanax and i take this instead does it still count as a day off benzo's or no cuz i took soma

i've got quite a bit of experience with soma so maybe i can help a little.

1. physical dependency? no. you could easily develop psychological dependency, but not necessarily. if you're an addictive person, you sure could develop psych dependency.
2. that's a decent strategy to keep from becoming physically addicted to xanax as fast, but in the long run, say six months, you probably would become addicted to the xans, were this regimen adhered to every night. you would not develop a physical dependence on soma, regardless.
3. it's not a benzo and would count as a day away from them but you have to consider benzo's half life. a search here will give you more info on half lives of meds. YMMV from person to person on how long a drug stays in your system.

I hope the info i've supplied is accurate. i only speak through my own experience.
