I'm considering trying these two some times, But one thing is really important for me to know, and I seem to be reading conflicting things in this regard all the time....

Does DOB and DOI cause any kind of release or reuptake inhibition of serotonin/Dopamine/nor-adrenaline? or do their stimulating effects come from 5HT2a agonism only?

is it possible that any SERT/NET/DAT activity has been overlooked due to studies always being centered around the 5HT2a agonism of these compounds?

I'd love to see some studies (sources) as proof of any claim.

The good old PLoS one study suggests DOB/DOI bind to SERT as well as alpha-2a adrenergic. No significant binding to DAT or NET.

It would make perfect sense if a2a antagonism was the cause for some of the "stimulatory" effects. It's the receptor responsible for yohimbine's stimulatory f/x.

thank you =D

Interesting to note: both DOB and DOI have significant affinity for a2a and a2c, but DOI has a very high affinity for a2a (some 10x that of DOB), possibly explaining why some people feel DOB is pleasant whereas DOI is too wierd, bodyload wise.

Yes, it seems logical considering the 2c's. There seems to be some comparison at least.
Of the DOx's I only tried DOM, and I didn't feel it to be very stimulating. I had a elevated heart beat, but that was it, no teeth grinding etc like people report with DOI/DOB.

DOC is probably more like DOM. I'll check it out :D

DOI feels like it gets the adrenaline pumping quite a bit more than the 2c's. I posted in the past about a low dose of DOI that resulted in 40 hours of awake time with sharp mental function but nothing really enjoyable about the experience. Purely analytical is how I would place it however my mind tended to wander a bit. It has been a bit since I have familiarizied myself with the material and I can't really see myself wanting to do it again. Not my cup of tea, very stimulating and made me anxious, can't remember teeth grinding but I could see it being a possibility.

full 5ht2c agonism is also anxiogenically stimulating (judging by the array of admittedly dirty ligands for it in recreational use).
