2 questions actually....
1. If a med. label says "controlled substance..blah blah" on it, is it safe to assume that it has some kind of desirable effect that they want to limit how readily available it is for people??
2. I know that many drugs have 'time release' coatings on them to disperse the drug's effects slowly instead of all at once....would a sticker saying 'Do not chew/crush this tablet' imply anything about it?
Hopefully this message didn't violate any BL policies but i had to ask...thanks..

for number 2: perhaps, but that is the typical way to get rid of the time release if it did have it. i'm not sure..

In answer to your first question, a substance can be scheduled or "controlled" for a number of different reasons, so it wouldn't be safe to assume that just because it is labelled controlled it will get you high. Check the posts in this forum or the other sites mentioned here and you will be sure to come across some fiend who has played around with whatever it is you got. That's the beauty of the internet now that porn has lost its fun.
The coating has NOTHING to do with the time-release mechanism. I don't know who started this idea, but it seems like a real popular one. Crushing the pill into a fine powder will eliminate its time-release properties, but again "Don't crush or chew" can be an indication of a lot of different things. Depends on the med. Some meds with time-release action have the letters 'XR' after the name.

Ya gotta be carefull..
1) http://www.deadiversion.usdoj.gov/schedules/alpha/index.html
2) The coating has NOTHING to do with the time release mechanisim, but you better be DAMN SURE you know what you're doing, because some of these time release formulations have 20 or 30 times a "normal dose" - you snort the wrong pill and you're dead!
