Hello,

Looking for any smart folks that my be able to answer this for me.

I was recently given the buccal swab enzyme test for a pain management clinic.

The results came in and I haven't seen them yet in black and white myself, but the doctor told me that I am a ultra-rapid metabolizer of methadone. My question is, can it be for methadone only? I don't even take methadone. And, from what I've read online, methadone takes a minimum of 6 different enzymes to metabolize it. I've never had much luck with many medications, i.e. valium, antibiotics, other opiates, etc. not working very well and needing much larger than average dosage to obtain pain relief.

So, I don't know if he is just saying it is only for methadone or if that is truly a possibility or not.

For example, I have 15mg Morphine prescribed to me and I may as well just take a couple of tic-tacs and I would get the same affect. I believe that I am an ultra-rapid metabolizer across the board.

If anyone could elaborate, that would be great.

I have requested a copy of the enzyme results but until I get them in my hot little hands, I'd like to try to solve this so called mystery.

Thanks in advance...
~T
