Question about benzos

I have been looking this up and can not find an answer that directly relates to my question.

Suppose a person has been prescribed and taken a benzo like Klonopin nightly for a number of years. Said person lost insurance and can not see doctor. To avoid withdrawal could a person like that take another benzo instead? Is the chemistry close enough to convince the body not to go into withdrawal? Between Valium and Ativan which would be closer to a daily dose of Klonopin? :? I know the difference in the half-lives and am not concerned so much about that as dosing is really not the issue. Obviously Valium (like Klonopin) has a longer half-life than Ativan. I just want to know if another medication in the same class (benzo) would be sufficient until RX for Klonopin was able to be obtained.

Thanks!

I may be wrong but I think this would work although is not ideal. Diazepam would probably work best out of the two you stated there. Be careful, coming of benzos can be very dangerous. See a doctor somehow mate, it'll be worth going into a bit of debt for.

Yeah go for valium as its long acting just as klonopin is so your withdrawal wont be noticeable.taking you might be able to take a valium and then not redose until 2 or 3 days later and still avoid withdrawal becuase pf its slightly longer halflife if you really want to make them last.

Last resort: Valerian

"Valerian, in pharmacology and herbal medicine, is the name of a herb or dietary supplement prepared from roots of the plant. Crude extract of the root is often sold in the form of capsules. Valerian root has sedative and anxiolytic effects. It can also be classified as a drug, since its consumption produces a sedative or medicinal effect, while it is not exclusively a type of food. These effects are suspected to be mediated through the GABA receptor. [1] The amino acid valine is named after this plant."

Your best bet is Valium. You answered your own question.....I mean there are tons on benzo's but do you have a chance to pick and choose what you want?.......Between me I would just go with valium or librium.

Gabapentin helps also and lyrica......but those are not benzos. Phenibut helps but is very addictive and causes the nastiest withdraws. I'm still on it and I'm waiting because I'm weaning myself down slowly.

diazepam (valium or another longer lasting benzo is best bet while also trying to taper at same time might be useful.
