Psychogenic Amphetamine

This is way too long to read for something without references.

My theory about ADHD, as someone who has it and as someone who is sober (but without memory impairments, so it was diagnosed late):
1.) Low amounts of DA/NE along with low amounts of receptors exist in the brain of the person with ADHD.
2.) Something stimulates the person with ADHD, producing large amounts of DA/NE, which the person is unusually sensitive to. This includes stuff like gambling, daydreaming, doing drugs/drinking, watching porn, being extremely social, playing games for hours on end, etc.
3.) Other things like math, reading, boring non-objective assignments, etc., do not produce these releases, so the person get extremely bored and fidgety and anxious when they aren't doing something that releases DA/NE for them.

Drugs that increases DA/NE in the brain ameliorate this by bypass the whole circuit and telling them that whatever they're doing is interesting enough to work on or think about, allowing the person to not get distracting for hours by things they normally get excited by.

Nuke, I'll keep that copy-paste at hand as it quite sums it up for a layman!
