So since I've seen about ten docs, and posted on everywhere from healthtap to reddit forums, and nodody has been able to figure out why I'm stuck in the condition he's in, I thought maybe some people here may have a theory:
This is very emotional for me. Just had to get that out of the way. I had a bad reaction to pseudoephedrine, taken for sinus relief in an OTC product. I went to the ER, where they told him that his hypertension urgency case and severe severe chest pain could have been brought on by his lyme disease infection, WTF! They discharged me, with very high BP and later that day developed an insane headache and went screaming into the ER, where they finally lowered my BP, but insisted on discharging him, saying he had a "long standing BP issue, clearly." I tried to tell them it was the damn pseudoephedrine, but they were awful ER nurses who didn't care and thought I was being aggressive. I started vomiting and was 3 days no sleep, heart beating so fast when he stood up that he couldn't do so, had to get carried into the ER AGAIN, with a severe migraine, with floaters and horrible tinnitus, and has been stuck with these symptoms, as well as severe postural tachycardia ever since.
It has been 2 years. Not a millisecond has gone by where I don't feel the exact symptoms that he did during that OD... they simply never went away. The chest pain and tachycardia is controlled by Verapamil, but the migraine, tinnitus and aura are not. I has taken every migraine medication, anti-convulstants, benzos, done IV everything at the hospital... going in for botox next week, but botox isn't going to get at the root of the problem, which is clearly something deep in the nervous system.
So the question I have, is do you think I did irreversible damage, like he may have had some type of undetected/undiagnosed event/damage that happened during that episode which permanently left him in that state, or do you think that just like I was put into this mess by a drug, he can be pulled out of this mess by a drug... what might that drug be? SWIM is looking at IV propofol, morphine, or anything that may reduce activity of the nervous system, but is at his wit's end, since no doctors are fighting for him, he is basically just fighting for himself, bringing suggestions to the table.
What do you think? I know it's high-level sh*t, but any helpful knowledge/suggestions/theories are welcome. I have generally taken things fairly well, but am having a sh*t ton of anxiety about it right now and needs some help thinking things through.
