Hi, so yesterday I took some Methylone and some MDMA. Today, I am experiencing the typical tuesday blues symptoms, coupled with an elevated heart rate and some angina (chest pains). Would it be safe for me to take a dose of one of the above. I know that my body reacts normally with these as I have taken them before, I have some left over from surgery a while back. Would that be safe and effective? I know that beta-blockers typically reduce blood pressure, heart rate, and some are used for blocking physiological symptoms of anxiety. Which is essentially what I would use it for. I think I will be okay, but I don't know everything. Are there any contraindications that I may have not considered? Or a better suggestion for medicine. I've also tried 5-HTP, doesn't really reduce the physiological effects for me, just the depressed-ness of it.

Edit: Also, I have access to hydroxyzine. And I already knows, benzos are my best bet. But, addictive personality + benzo's for me don't go together.

It would be best to avoid taking too many drugs to fix your hangovers. Go have a nap, a hot meal, hot shower, see how you feel then. Beta blockers are nothing but a band-aid and your feeling poorly will go away in a day or so.

They wouldn't actively hurt you, but might increase your chances of fainting or mess with your blood pressure in a strange way.

Well I would bet you have more of comedown than sek bets, but who knows. It varies tremendously. 5-HTP is a good supplement for a lasting hangover.

I can't say what the risk is a day later, but generally beta blockers are contraindicated in people who are dealing with stimulant (including MDMA) related cardio issues, because they can produce a paradoxical reaction whereby the unopposed alpha adrenergic system increases cardiac output and blood pressure. Since you specifically identified tachycardia and angina, you should play it safe and avoid beta blockers despite your past success in my opinion. Hydroxyzine would be better for anxiety right now if you have to take something; if you had access to an alpha blocker (or a2 agonist like clonidine or guanfacine) that would be a very good option as well.

The beta-blocker was administered at a hospital 3 days after the night of rolling due to a severe anxiety attack (1.4gs of BK-MDMA , yeah I'm an idiot, fuck my impulsive habits). However most of the molecule should be out of my blood stream after 24 hours which is why that was probably safe at that point. Also, I wouldn't call it tachycardia at this point, my heart rate is probably only elevated to 100BPM, not 140 which is the definition for tachy. Are you sure there is no problems that could manifest if I took the hydroxyzine? I don't wanna get hospitalized, again. :|

I've read stories of people getting getting serotonin syndrome taking it the day after. True or false? Elaboration for the answer? Thanks(:

You can take a beta-blocker once you're certain the MDxx has worn off. If you take it while the MDxx is still active, it could spell trouble -- and even death. Shutting down beta adrenergic receptors will leave alpha adrenergic receptors open in turn upsetting the alpha/beta balance. This makes the alpha receptors vulnerable to stimulants (or any substances which cause elevated heart rate) by leading to unopposed alpha stimulation.

Stimulants and beta blockers should not be co-administered; norepinephrine (NE) has a vasodilating effect, and even though stimulants can be bad for your cardiovascular system, blocking the beta receptors just makes it even worse and raises your BP/HR even higher due to the lack of NE release while on beta blockers and the subsequent vasoconstricting effect they can have.

good luck stopping your heart bro...have fun dying as your heart rate creeps to a crawl..

Don't mix these two beta blockers or you are the dumbest son of a bitch alive and probably deserve to die.

Propranolol will get on the adrenalin receptoors in your heart so adrenaline doesn't have much effect on your heart anymore (pulse and blood pressure).
Thats why they also can give some relief when you are suffering from anxiety, or can give musicians less fright for going on stage.

If you feel over stimulated from stimulants as mdma or amphetamine, then my first choice will be an benzodiazepine like diazepam. Beta blockers don't calm you down like benzodiazepines do, beta blockers are more for when you feeling a little bit of anxiety.

But don't take benzodiazepines chronically for that reason.

Good advice, but take notice:

I am on Propranolol 80 xr daily for tremor taken at breakfast and didn't get any bad effects when using amphetamines/beta ketones, but after a relatively chill friday night of taking 3-mmc and after that some Pentedrone at home around 8:00, I thought I was relatively sober, still a bit stimulated but wanted to sleep I had slight muscle cramps and and figured it was a good time to take my Propanolol 80mg xr to take care of that and possibly chill me out a bit more so sleeping was going to be even easier..

BAD IDEA!
My body started tingling/ burning, a very alarming nasty feeling, I could feel the Propranolol set in it was horrible!
In panic I drank some water and tried to vomit, which did not work, I then looked up potential vasodilators I could get my hands on, it took a lot of effort to concentrate while experiencing the increasing dreadful feeling getting stronger and stronger.

I was pale, sweat started pouring out of me in streams and it felt like my veins in my arms and hands were painfully turning to stone, so I took a cool shower but put a more warm stream directly on my arms and hands (mostly right side of the body)

After this (the shower helped me regain a bit more of control, but i still was sweating profusely with tingling painful veins / arms that felt like slowly hardening cement or something like that..
I took vitamin b12 complex, Calcium Nitrate, Paracetamol and multi vitamins with sweet fruit juice (possible blood sugar levels)

Then the doorbell rang and some Etizolam that I had ordered was delivered, which helped me with the panic and anxiety (and sleep next night)

I started urinating frequently urine was colored bright yellow almost fluorescent and diarrhea set in (possibly by the Etizolam).
I drank plenty of fluids, more than normal, but not too much, just enough too keep up with secretion.

Sunday morning I woke up with a huge erection (had taken viagra the night before as it might help), that pleased me knowing my blood flow must be better..
Then the realization set in that I was living out a scene from the movie Trainspotting AAARGH!!!
Knocked out by 2 Etizolam in my peaceful slumber I had shit my fokin bed.:sus:
Completion of the scene was me with huge boner covered in shit, including shitty laundry running into my roommate. WTF..=D

That sunday about 30 hours after the reaction i started urinating like crazy was hard to keep up with fluids, being carefull not to over do it but I urinated at least every hour.

The following 3 days my right hand was numb, tingly and slightly painful.
I did not take my prescribed Propranolol as my body was still getting rid of stuff.

I was unable to seek emergency treatment when this occurred, but would strongly suggest anyone in the same situation to do so immediately!
Yesterday, I went to the doctor to check my blood pressure and blood flow and all seemed ok, and there probably wasn't any neurological damage.
Today my arm and hand have returned to normal, but it was a very scary experience to say the least.

I strongly recommend never to take extended release or high dosages of Propranolol with stimulants and especially NOT to combine ANY beta blockers with Beta-Ketones!
