From the same class, phenothiazine.

Obviously prometh binds stronger to histamine, with comparatively little dopamine blocking effect.

Are their effects comparable/different in other significant ways?

I guess what I'm saying is, I tolerated promethazine terribly poorly.

....

Based on that, could I likely expect to tolerate other phenothiazines like seroqual or AP's, also poorly?

Could I expect the same or worse side effects from seroquel as I got from promethazine?

I wouldnt say they are the same side effect wise. Personally Promethazine works fine for me while i can't tolerate Seroquel at all. So maybe Seroquel might work alright for you who knows.

the only thing that works for my sleep is Alimemazine, it's primarly a strong anti histaminic, but it could also be conssidered as a neuroleptic imo because it really knocks you out mentally, and it has affinities for other receptors i'm sure, like D2 or M

As long as you don't suffer from psychotic symptoms (and even when, in some cases) you don't wanna mess with antipsychotics. The dysphoria/anhedonia/restlessness/anxiety/chemical straightjacket and long-term side effects are fucking real.

Other antihistaminergics to mention are hydroxyzine (inverse agonist), diphenhydramine, doxylamine. Some tricyclic antidepressants. These have less/different side effects than the antipsychotics and are usually better tolerated.
