So, for those of you familiar with these two things: Just as a chaos magician is to a wiccan, ________________ is to a shaman. What is this ___________? is there a term for it?

I'm not sure a chaos magician has to be wiccan. And a shaman especially, can be simply the resident coo-koo man that lives in a modified beaver dam.

None of this really works.

What an odd question.

I've always advocated a concept deemed (for lack of a better term) 'technological shamanism' - using old shamanic practices along certain meridian lines with new technologies to enhance the many other facets of shamanism that don't exclusively involve drugs (not that new synthetic drugs aren't included in this newer system, MXE and ketamine are perfect examples of shamanistic tools that don't reside in nature). IE: electronic music to replace drumming, etc.

I don't know if that has anything to do with what you're talking about however.

How really is e-music really any more tech fundamentally from drumming?

I think you misunderstood my question. Just as a chaos magician is as compared to a wiccan, what I am attempting to discuss would be that same comparison to shamanism.. if you catch my drift... so just as in chaos magic they use their belief as a tool and hop from one way of interpreating to another getting consistant results rather than goddess this spirit of that invoke upon thee etc, they just down to the point manifest, sometimes even understanding scientifically and with quantam mechanics instead...

so this applied to shamanism.. is there a term for it?

and yes shamanism cna be real and yes chaos magick can be real if you don't agree well than whatever to each their own..

A Doctor maybe?;

Both are Healers and Represent the Bodys connection to the Real World.

I don't really understand the comparison trying to be made, even though there was an attempt to clarify. I've met wiccans who use intentional magic outside of wiccan doctrine, it's just that their foundation (their "default" if you will) is Wicca. I have never heard of general intention/manifestation referred to as chaos magic, but maybe I'm ignorant of that aspect.

Shamanism originates from the Siberian region of Russia. In the modern world it has been used as an umbrella term for all kinds of things, mostly by new age circles. MagickDuck, maybe it would be helpful if you could define "Shamanism" in order to generate useful comparisons?

Hmm, i have no idea what question was asked in this post however i will say that chaos magick is far easier to understand for the modern mind from a practical point of view. Chaos magick definitely has the best explanations and techniques regarding the creation of astral entities/elementaries or thought forms (called Servitors in chaos) whereas Wiccan seems to be more orientated at energy manipulation and/or evocation of natural entities to serve desired purposes.

Shamanism seems more focused on higher dimensional travel and projection to communicate with spirit guides and other natural higher dimensional entities for the gaining of information and knowledge and to assist with healing etc. I am however aware of many areas with Shamanism history where many thought forms and artificial entities till exist and can be seen and communicated with buy those with the correct abilities.

My thoughts are they all work the same "system" in different ways. Same magick, different perspectives.

I understand I am saying shamanism still seems to be focused on icaros or singing chants or invokations or dealing with spirit(s)/spirit realm etc rather than a scientific approach, same as wicca.

when chaos magick seems to be scientific or at least it can and you can understand based on simple concepts of this is what it is rather than this is the god of this or goddess of that and i invoke upon thee and offer thee this and that etc etc its just THIS IS THIS AND THAT SHALL BE THAT. you know? Now imagine that practicality applied to shamanism..
