Hey guys, my friend was given 60 mg of adderall by a friend but forgot he took what he thinks was 2 36 mg concerta capsules not too long before taking the adderall. This was about an hour and a half ago, he says he is thirsty, his heart is beating fast/hurts and his hands are shaking. He is a tall average build very young adult (he doesn't want me to give exact details for anonymity's sake) who is accustomed to taking amphetamines, but never this much, usually around 50-60 mg over the course of an hour or to study. He does this every now and then to help him study and get work done so his tolerance is not inexistant but is relatively moderate if not slightly higher than most people. He's wondering if he will be ok and what he should do to keep the experience under control? I told him to drink some water and just try to take it easy, is there anything else he can do that would help? Has anyone had any similar experiences?

Also I'm fairly new to bluelight, just made this account to ask this question, is there a better forum I can put this in? I'll delete this thread and post it there if this belongs somewhere else.

Update its been about two hours and he feels a little better, he's wondering if it would be ok to smoke a cigarette or if the nicotine would make it worse. I told him he should be fine and it might even help with the shakes, input would be appreciated though.

Highly highly doubt he was overdosing instead just very high. Its a large amount for a rookie.

And for a side note. If you or your friends are truly fearful one is overdosing call the cops or get to hospital not come on an internet sight wasting your time. SMH

Cuz next time when your waiting for an internet response, and one of u drop dead its gonna be a shitty situation ull have to replay iver and over in your head thinking "i wish i woulda done abc.."

Don't call the fucking cops when you overdose lol....You can call 911 and ask for paramedics but there is a difference. The hospital is the route to go but they may call the cops as well. I mean if you are certain you have taken more than you could handle get help any way you can for sure. That said don't call the cops call 911 and ask for paramedics and tell them someone has had an allergic reaction. When paramedics arrive tell THEM the truth for sure or risk getting fucked up. I've helped many friends under this premise and none died or went to jail lol. I do agree posting on a forum isn't the way.

Concerta isn't an amphetamine. However like caffiene, you can potentiate the effects of both Concerta and Adderall with either or. Both are CNS stimulants. They act on the central nervous system in many ways similarly to other stimulants. Amphetamines, and amphetamine medication like Adderall have a much greater impact on the CNS than stimulants like Concerta do. Combining the two is not recommended. If your friend has used Concerta and has developed a tolerance for it, amphetamine medication like Adderall will have an entirely new impact on his system than methylphenidate (Ritalin, Concerta) will. Amphetamines can be potentiated via other stimulants like Concerta/Adderall and even caffeine. He's likely experiencing an amphetamine high because he's not used to amphetamine medications.

60 MLG of Adderall, if it's IR or Immediate Release is potent enough. Without any past exposure, even 40 mlg's of an IR will be extremely potent, and simulate a methamphetamine like high. Stimulants should NOT be mixed, especially not stimulant medication like Concerta (an XR variant of Ritalin), and/or an ir/xr variant of Adderall. One lasts for 12 hours roughly, and the other for 6.

To make things clear:

IR: = Immediate/instant release. (Ritalin, Adderall) Solid pill form. Lasts roughly 4 to 6 hours, taken multiple times a day as needed.

Xr/ER: = Extended release (Concerta, Adderall, Vyvanse) Encapsulated pill form with beads carrying said medication. Lasts roughly 8 to 12 hours, taken once, up to two times a day varying on medication effectiveness.

DO NOT mix stimulants with other stimulants. Caffiene, Concerta/Ritalin, Adderall, etc. They potentiate each other.

Stimulant abuse leads to potential risks in developing CHF, or Congestive Heart Failure. This is a potentially fatal disease, that, when combined with stimulants can lead to instantaneous death. Including but not limited to caffeine, and amphetamines. Amphetamine abuse can also lead to other chronic illnesses such as GAD or generalized anxiety disorder, panic disorder, and sudden weight gain, or sudden weight loss, malnutrition, dehydration, and a little thing known as serotonin syndrome.
