Police Brutality Thread

The other 3 ( I know their names but can't be arsed ) have officially petitioned the Federal Court to have their cases removed from Chauvins ( as all 4 were indicted as quadruplets ) citing they won't get a fair trial if their names are associated with him.

No shit Sherlock.

And you aren't playing with the State Boys anymore. The Feds are in control now and they will be damn lucky if they are even offered a plea.

See how the rats want to scatter after they see what might happen to them now. Too bad they didn't think of it when they were all sitting on Mr. Floyd smiling at the crowd.

Ahem. Just clearing my throat. :ROFLMAO:

You’re gonna have to do better than that in order to get me to unleash my latest collection of so-called police brutality/sports/training/action/motivational footage (accompanied by the relevant and applicable commentaries and footnotes of course)! 🤣

How the fuck did that happen anyway? I unsubscribed from this thread (mental health and all)! Oh wait. Just realized now what happened. Thanks a fucking lot for nothing @Snafu of the Forest! :ROFLMAO:

The media has now petitioned Judge Cahill ( presided over the trial ) to release the names of the jurors in the Chauvin trial. The judge sealed their names due to the tremendous bias and racism that was involved in order to keep them safe DURING the trial. The judge didn't unseal them afterwards which is his prerogative but it is unusual after the fact.

The ones that outed themselves by going on National TV MAY be subject to some jury misconduct. Nothing has been established on those two yet. Now the media is saying that amongst the other 10 there may have been incidents in the jury room that could be construed as misconduct. Looks like one of the jurors leaked something as how would the media know what went on behind closed doors unless someone had talked.

If you were the Judge would you unseal the names or keep them hush hush?

@Pumpkin2021 honestly I would be extremely uncomfortable sitting as a juror on that particular case without complete and total anonymity.

I sat as a juror on a murder trial in California once. The prosecutor was asking me some questions and I remember the accused murderer staring at me, as if trying to remember my face. It gave me the chills.

I think jurors should have complete anonymity in controversial trials like this. Repercussions could be severe...

I agree with DURING the trial. How about afterwards? Most jurors go on the record after trials and most don't have a problem with it after it is over.

What about this supposed jury misconduct? Someone on the jury said something obviously. In order to get at the root of the problem ( if there is indeed one ) we have to know their identity.

That question is not directed at me I'm sure i.e. you know what the answer would be! :ROFLMAO:

But yeah. So now? Can you fucking imagine if the verdict gets overturned because of some or the other issue with the jurors or the entire jury? I don't even know if that's possible. But this could get real interesting again if it is I'll tell you that! We'll be on the soft limit of 200 pages on this thread before you know it! :ROFLMAO:

On a lighter note: I can, off the top of my head, think of at least 12 people that are currently scouring the Internet for properties to let in Mongolia! :ROFLMAO:

If in fact, and of course we don't know, a juror did something unethical in the jury room during deliberations, it absolutely should be investigated. And I would feel the same of any trial and any juror. Not just Chauvins. They took an oath to fairly deliberate the facts of the case and if someone didn't then that is egregious. Prosecutors, lawyers and Judges have to follow their oath ( and I know we do have a lot of misconduct in those areas ) The jurors are no exception. And we already know that 2 of them acted the ass after the trial and lied to the Judge about their affiliations and actions.

The appeals court could overturn the conviction and require a re-trial with another jury. I don't think the Appeals Court would totally vacate his conviction even if jury misconduct was uncovered. I believe they just try the person again with obviously 12 different people. Seems to me that somehow Chauvin's attorney got wind of something which may or may not constitute misconduct. Should be interesting if anything comes of it.

And snafu is going to stay totally out of CEPS after his last comment as he is enjoying good mental health.

I take it then that you check the below website now and then (you know: for parole hearings and outcomes) (that type of thing)! :ROFLMAO:

Indeed. I think jurors should always have that option. If they want to talk then go for it.

I can only imagine what it was like in that juror room. I'm sure the word "racist" was use which broke conduct, or something along those lines. Shrug.

Lmao, he got life no parole. Not worried about it 😂 . He was a really bad dude, though. Had that scary look in his eye 👀
Phew. Now there's a load off! Obviously my next post was going to be something along the lines of "well you know: when you hear that door creaking or footsteps...it's not your imagination"! :ROFLMAO: I'd use the search facility on that website anyway you know i.e. peace of mind and all that.

And which reminds me. I've not checked the Texas DOC's website re: Officer Guyger in a while! :)

Alright. This is scary! Gave me chills given what I just posted in jest! This just yesterday!

Fuck. And now that I think about it: the exact same thing happened the last time I posted about this i.e. last time was the very day that her appeal was being broadcast and I didn't know it at the time of initially posting.

I mean: what are the chances of that? 👀

Synchronicities my friend. It's the universe telling you something. Typically I interpret it as meaning I'm on the right path in life.
I don't know what to say to be honest. But that was a weird feeling. And I don't get those.

Probably nothing and making too much of it.

Tell you this much though: at least in my case she's a cop! :ROFLMAO:

This is your fault!

This isn't Floyd related but I couldn't find another thread on police brutality.

This story breaks my heart. A mentally ill man goes to police station, BEGS to be taken to the mental health ward.

One cop accidentally yells "he's got a gun!" (He didn't) and then WHILE he has 2 cops restraining him one cop pulls out his gun, physically puts the gun on his head, says "you're about to die" and half a second later shoots him point blank in the head.

It's so fucking tragic man.... This man needed HELP.

YOU DONT WANT TO WATCH THE VIDEO IT MADE ME WANT TO CRY, very disturbing

COPS ARE WAY TOO TRIGGER HAPPY
That's not what happened. I watched the full video and at first the suspect that was arrested for stalking and harassing his girlfriend or ex and showing up on pills and very drunk at her work, said he had a gun and started acting belligerent and crazy. When police came in to see if he actually did have a gun, he grabbed a cop's gun.

People who play stupid games like this wind up dead.

What do you mean that's not what happened?

You seem to be interpretating the video in your own biased way and leave out a lot of the points I was criticizing. Knock yourself out. But I really don't have time to debate this. It's an ugly situation.

Good. I hope we can all at least agree that this cop deserves to be in prison, for entering someone else's apartment without a warrant (thinking it was her own apartment apparently, but accident or not it's inexcusable) and shooting the resident dead. No wiggle room there (I certainly hope... please?)

Research what really happened and look at it from the police officers' perspective. If you tell police you have a weapon, look like you are going to pull out a weapon, or grab or touch their gun or taser do not be surprised when you get shot and killed.

It's not so much what she did, but what she didn't do. At first it seemed plausible that she had accidentally entered the wrong apartment ( they all looked alike in her complex and had 5 identical floors ). She was coming off of a long shift and was one floor ABOVE her own that was the victims. She entered and was surprised to see him in what she thought was her own apartment and fired her weapon at him. I thought okay, well that could possibly happen. But after she shot him she gets on her cell, calls 911 , and for the next 4 minutes she bleats and blatts about how she is going to lose her job to the dispatcher. She has a freakin 1st aid kit on her and doesn't even pull out a lousy band aid for the guy. She rendered NO aid, no CPR, no nothin". She just let him lay there on the floor and bleed out. IF she would have just rendered aid I think the jury would have thought differently. The prosecution decimated her on the stand.

First your telling me that you watched the video, now you're telling me to research it...

All after I concisely stated my opinion on the subject and told you I don't want to discuss it further.

You clearly did not absorb the words of mine you quoted. There's nothing to argue here.
