Police Brutality Thread

Wow. Guess the comment made by Maxine Waters will give Chauvin an automatic appeal and overturn a guilty verdict. The Judge was not pleased.

It would be far from automatic, they would have to convince a judge that the jury was influenced in their decision by the comments.

They should all resign. Immediately. Or we will burn everything down. Also, we are rewriting the constitution. Same requirements.

She's an elected representative. The opportunity to fire her comes up every 2 years. It's up to her electorate to decide if they approve or not of her actions.

But the president is impeached for inciting violence?

if i was there i would have just wanted to beg him please please please. get off of him just please. really.

I don't even and can't even want someone else to be hurt. Now.

Who was on the drugs ???
c'mon now serious 😮
I would have literally drop kicked Chauvin if I even walked by that shit. I can remember a decade ago filming police harassing kids. I've never been one to idly stand by.

I'm not kidding - I seriously would have. I've done some crazy shit in my day, much worse than drop kicking a cop actively committing murder.

Impeached and acquitted.

She's just saying what her electorate wants to hear. It's all most of them ever do. Honestly the US system of democracy is closer to mob rule than democracy. People want to riot if the verdict isn't what they want. They want to vote for people who want the same thing. Politicians want to say the things voters want to hear. There's so few adults in the room.

I very much doubt it.

Super easy to play tough on the internet.

Shouldn't the president be held to higher standards... or...?

The argument was that she was elected, so she can't be removed until her next election. According to this logic, she can do or say whatever she wants for the next two years. Pretty sure that's not how it works.

Let me ask you this: should senators be held to any standard?

She's blatantly (much more so than Trump ever did) encouraging violence.
Trump was acquitted, yes, but at least there was an impeachment trial.
I don't understand why a senator is given special treatment.

stopppppp i would have been weeping so loud

praying out loud. crying to stop now PLEASE 👽
No judgement against you or the others who appear in the video, but I'm crazy and if that crazy situation had met me, it would have gone done very differently. Likely with Floyd alive and me in a cell.

Trump:
If you don't fight like hell you're not going to have a country anymore!
Waters:
We got to stay on the street. And we've got to get more active, we've got to get more confrontational. We've got to make sure that they know that we mean business
Looks about the same to me. Both ambiguous. Both careless at the least. Both fall short of any legal bar for proving incitement.

@Zephyn

How can you not see that antagonizing police is why this situation occurred in the first place?

If you kicked Chauvin in the head, you would end up dead.

Do you honestly want to put your life on the line for Floyd?

I sure as fuck don't.

Right or wrong aside, assaulting the police doesn't help.

I would think you've already had enough trouble with cops in the past?

Oh, that waters. Well in her case, ill be providing *waters*

If I saw police choking out and killing a man id drop kick them and intervene. At that point especially as a white guy I probably wouldn't be killed, only arrested.

Yes, they should be held to two standards.
1. The law. If they commit a (significant) crime they should be barred from office.
2. The will of the people. This is the standard politicians are held to in democracies.

Assaulting the police does help if you drop kicked them in the moment they are strangling a guy giving him a breath of air. Those moments, they count, in situations like these.
