Police Brutality Thread

Not that it is fully representative, a poll closed after 23 votes..

Lol, yeah I honestly have no explanation there. There was 18 votes for white, and that was like 80 percent or so, so it was definitely the majority. Maybe I saw another race and mixed it up - I tend to try to catch up on numerous pages quickly

I still find it impossible to believe there are no black members on this forum.

I recall one, he was a guy who was on the Intervention television series years ago - the DXM fiend.
 
@jackie jones I see that thread got closed down, so that was a terrible example on my part, I should have looked at it today before even bringing it up.

I'd bet quite a bit of money there is more than one black DXM fiend that is on this forum lol.

Yeah, I see now, the topic of this thread. I'm watching it, thanks for the information. At first I thought I was going to have to go edit one of my posts quick that could almost identify where I live lol.

Well, of course.

I have noticed that the black drug culture has a tendency to gravitate towards certain drugs (Crack Cocaine, for example), as white people do (LSD, for example). There are drugs in which the races come together with (Cannabis).
 
Can I ask, do you live in the US? I find that to not be a very accurate portrayal, at least where I live. Minus the LSD portion, I suppose I know mostly white people who do that.

Sadly he passed away, it was an older episode of the show. He had a pretty tough life, may he R.I.P.

When I was 6 months old some white meth head who lived downstairs from me broke into my families apartment and tried to murder me and it was his black gf who followed him in and saved my life. He escaped and was eventually caught some number of blocks away. He was never charged for the break in or attempted murder; just some minor trespassing charge when he ran though some store while making his escape. Maybe he wasn't mentally fit to be tried for a crime or it could of been the fact that he had a relative that was a high ranking member of a certain police department that got him off. He also continued to live in my building after that and even showed at my door again some months later but didn't get in

I'm white but if I happened to be black I may of got something completely different out of the fact that I was almost killed by a white guy, saved by a black girl, and the cops didn't do much.

Not trying to compare since I know i was too young to remember or have actual trauma from it just trying to make a point that you can't always jump to making it about race.

As a reminder, nobody says All Cops are Good, but the majority aren't Bad. The argument recently has shifted from specific bad cop examples blossoming into law enforcement being abolished as a means of addressing systemic issues with the country. But this reminder is that we've put cops in a tough position over the years...


 
Is it just me, besides Thomas Lane's terrible lawyer Earl Gray, seem to think if any of the cops should be found not guilty, it would be him? I just can't bring myself to think he should be found guilty after reviewing all the data currently available.

Maybe guilty of a lesser charge, but even then, debatable.

I also believe the mentality pertains to Correctional Officers as well.
