Police Brutality Thread

why don't they just reform the police? Local and state governments have that power.
Unfortunately they don't care about the common good they just care about their power.
They're more likely to install a group like the Gestapo.
Or why don't they properly tackle the crime problem in inner cities?

It sounds like this exact concept is being pushed, with Minneapolis PD setting somewhat of the precedent. I doubt this will happen nationwide, but it's a start.

Yeah because it's such a serious problem....

World media is currently hard at work 'informing' billions of people that American police are waging "genocide" against Blacks.

So how many unarmed Blacks were killed by cops in the USA last year?

10.

Tucker Carlson relates what happened in each case...

For the people who get so triggered by Tucker that they are physically unable to click the button to watch, I'll summarize:
There is no epidemic of racist white cops shooting unarmed black suspects.

So let me start by saying I watch Fox News, and I typically watch Tucker Carlson as well. To start, he does concede the point that many are never prosecuted.

But, beyond that - just one is unacceptable. If you look at these types of shootings as an absolutely unacceptable symptom of the root cause problem - systemic racism - just one of these is bad enough.

Also, this is only one symptom of the root cause. So, it really comes down to, again, how you frame something.

It's like saying if you have heart disease, your ejection fraction is bad, but not critical, so your heart disease is no big deal. But, when you factor in all the other symptoms, it makes it a huge problem. How low do you let your ejection fraction get before you say, "Stop! I need to fix this!"? If you allow it to become critical levels, it's game over

Systemic racism and injustice is a disease that manifests itself in many different ways, or symptoms, if you follow the analogy.

Or why don't they properly tackle the crime problem in inner cities?

This would be a start. In order to do this, it would all come down to dealing with the root cause of systematic racism.

How about the epidemic of imprisoning black men for drug crimes? There is systemic racism in our justice system that cannot be denied

He tested positive for the antibody test, so yes, at some point he had the virus.
I wonder if that was a factor in his death.
and I’m not trying to take blame away from the cop.
it just make sense he had lung damage.
Fuck knows though.

I believe both autopsies confirmed there was no lung damage or complications from COVID-19. But, it definitely makes one wonder though for sure.

What's more questionable, to me, is why the first autopsy noted heart damage due to heart disease while the second autopsy noted none. I'm unable to determine which one was accurate.

I have heart disease and numerous other cardiovascular diseases myself, so I'm acutely aware how those two discrepancies are impossible from one to another.

A lot of healthy adults have some form of heart "damage", or is slightly out of spec from "normal", especially as we age. Add in stimulant drug abuse, and it's all but a guarantee to have some noticable damage. It's bizarre how the second report states no damage - because of this, I actually find the second report to be problematic - which makes me then question the whole autopsy.

I think it can be safely said that most if not all politicians are lying sacks of shit. That would include Trump.
Can we all agree on that?
He has a job to do.
I just try to go with the lesser of the evil's.

So someone has to start with being the change
and making that difference.

So far we are still just hanging on.
And we have a Turd world now.

Always have and always will 😭

Let people do their jobs ffs and see what they can do with it.
Then there is the two sided election again.

You know Jesus needs to come back and knock
everyone on their ass in this TURD world 😭

What if the change they are trying to make is bad for the majority? That's why you're seeing the pushback against Trump. Our country doesn't work by one person making the change autonomously, that one person represents the people.

Because of how political lines divide our country, you will never see one President not receive similar pushback. The problem becomes apparent when both sides of the aisle have a problem with him, then you know there is a real issue.

We've got nothing to fear but fear itself
Not pain or failure, not fatal tragedy
Not the faulty units in this mad machinery
Not the broken contacts in emotional chemistry?

With an iron fist in a velvet glove
We are sheltered under the gun
In the glory game on the power train
Thy kingdom's will be done.

And the things that we fear
Are a weapon to be held against us.

Like a steely blade in a silken sheath
We don't see what they're made of
They shout about love, but when push comes to shove
They live for things they're afraid of.

Roger Goodell Admits NFL Was Wrong, Encourages Players to Peacefully Protest

NFL commissioner Roger Goodell released an 81-second video via the league's Twitter account on Friday and it was stunning. In the video, Goodell admits the NFL was wrong for not listening to league's players about the systematic oppression of black people in this country. He also encouraged "all to speak out and peacefully protest" before stating "black lives matter."

By endorsing peaceful protests, Goodell is essentially giving players the green light to kneel during the national anthem if they choose to do so. Remember, back in 2017 kneeling during the anthem became a huge fight between the players, owners and the league, with president Donald Trump weighing in. The kneeling protests largely went away as owners threatened players who participated. On Friday, Trump again blasted the idea of kneeling during the anthem, so it's noteworthy that Goodell endorsed peaceful protests.

Goodell has admitted the league, and its owners, were wrong. And, frankly, they were. Without saying it, the commissioner has all but endorsed the same idea Colin Kaepernick was protesting for. I don't think it's an understatement to call this a monumental shift from Goodell.
