St. Paul Mayor Melvin Carter: "Every single person we arrested last night, I'm told, was from out of state."

Mayor Walks Back Statement Saying Every Person Arrested In Minneapolis Protests Was From Out Of State

Melvin Carter, the mayor of Saint Paul, Minnesota, on Saturday said he was wrong when he declared that “every person” arrested in violent Minneapolis protests was from out of state.

Carter said he was given inaccurate information during a police briefing, which he repeated at a Saturday morning press conference, according to CBS reporter David Begnaud.

The reversal came after a local news outlet KARE 11 examined data from the Hennepin County Jail’s roster and found nearly all the people arrested actually live in Minneapolis or the surrounding metro area.

Do you not read the posts in this thread or conveniently ignore them? I posted the article where he apologized for saying this because jail records proved otherwise.

I don't think he does. Usually it's posting to put his point out there, but often it misses the dozen or so replies since his last post.

95% of the time I read all the replies. But if there's a lot of pages I might miss some.
I also post on many different sites so I sometimes confuse what was said where.

No it doesn't. It reveals what USA society deems more important. You know what people/society care about? Selling you shit. They care about the ability to buy chocolate milk and get their smiley fries or whatever. No one gives a fuck about some foot mobile n1gger.

I mean Minnesota or wherever the fuck doesn't even have a civilian inquiry board for the police. WHAT. THE. FUCK.

Time to burn down the White House.
What I meant by my previous reply is how the message against police brutality that the racist hate group BLM goes on about gets lost when you have black lives matter and antifa people blocking streets, bridges, rioting, looting, etc. They do fall into the trap of consumerism.

Went back thru the past half the thread and didn't see these two mentioned:

Pair of Brooklyn lawyers including Ivy League corporate attorney charged in Molotov cocktail attack on NYPD cruiser

Two Brooklyn lawyers, including an Ivy League graduate corporate attorney, are facing federal charges over accusations they tossed a Molotov cocktail into an NYPD vehicle early Saturday morning during a protest over the police killing of George Floyd.

Colinford Mattis, 32, a corporate lawyer and member of Community Board 5 in East New York, was charged along with fellow attorney Urooj Rahman with the attempted attack on an empty police cruiser parked outside the 88th Precinct station house in Fort Greene.

Authorities say Rahman, 31, tossed a bottle filled with gasoline through a broken window into the cruiser just before 1 am Saturday but the Molotov cocktail failed to ignite. Rahman jumped into a van driven by Mattis and they sped off, court papers allege.

The attempted torching was captured by video surveillance cameras outside the precinct station house on DeKalb Ave., according to court papers.

Cops gave chase and stopped the van nearby on Willoughby St. They found the makings of another Molotov cocktail in the back seat along with a gasoline container, authorities say.

“No rational human being can ever believe that hurling firebombs at police officers and vehicles is justified," said Brooklyn U.S Attorney Richard Donoghue.

Neither Rahman nor Mattis have been arrested before, authorities say. They face federal charges and will be arraigned Monday.

And now this

Molotov cocktail-tossing lawyers tried to pass out firebombs to protesters: feds

A bystander snapped a photo of the pair in the car while they were allegedly trying to pass out the homemade explosive devices, according to the memo.

“Rahman attempted to distribute Molotov cocktails to the witness and others so that those individuals could likewise use the incendiary devices in furtherance of more destruction and violence,” the witness later told authorities.

“During the arrest, officers observed in plain view several precursor items used to build a Molotov cocktail, including a lighter, a Bud Light beer bottle filled with toilet paper and a liquid suspected to be gasoline in the vicinity of the passenger seat and a gasoline tank in the rear of the vehicle,” prosecutors said.

WTF. SMH.

Trump's threat of calling in the military may damn well lead to a civil war. I don't think the protests are gonna be stopping anytime soon

Here's my prediction.

There will be no civil war. The protests will end inside of a week.

^ somebody present for that photo asked president trump "is that your bible?"

his response? "it's a bible"

this bible-wielding, church-adjacent photo op. is cynical b.s.

alasdair

Of course it isn't his Bible. Trumps an atheist.

Belief in God would require trump accept an authority above himself. :p

Alright so maybe not a civil war but this round of protests/riots just feels different. People are angry and upset at many things and this murder was the tipping point. I have a hard time believing it will all just fade away quickly. Especially given that police have often been spotted starting the violence. People are gonna fight that

In cleveland they have a 24 hr curfew and the police said no exceptions, not even for the press. Constitutional violations anyone?

The mayor later said press could go in but still, what were they even thinking. Perhaps you're right but honestly i hope not, we need some changes here
