so anyway it was my bday yesterday and i decided to spend the evening at starcity (w0ot)..

i joined the 'star club' and got $10 to use within the casino and cause it was my bday i got an extra $10.....

..and i won $20! not much but it cost me nothing! so.....

who likes gambling and what games do u like???

AND anyone won anything reasonable??
 
When I upgraded my Crown membership (which was free), I got $4 in pokie credits (for free). Then I won $87 with them. Go me.

I don't like gambling though. I dated a gambling addict and it kind of turns you off for life.

I hate pokies - I won $3800.00 (round abouts) once and have never ever won since.

It was the first time i ever played and I stuck a $5 note in and by accident pressed "max bet, bet all" or something like that. The machine went mental and i thought i'd broken it at first until the attendant came over and made me sign a slip so I could go get the money from the cashier. I nearly died when I saw the amount but I don't play pokies anymore because i rarely win now.
 
Gambler....so not!

I'm the most piss-poor gambler you will ever see. My max bet would be about 5 cents.

I won $120 once, but that's about it.

I can't remember the last time I went near a poker machine.

Evil inventions really.
 
The only time I ever win on the things is when I accidently hit max bet, or mixtake a $1 machine for a 1 centa.
 
Funny you should mention it - just last night me and a friend went to get a beer and the only place that was open was the local pokies joint. So we went and had a drink, and then said fuckit lets put $5 each in and split whatever we win (if anything).

Came out $40 each up! :D
 
I don't gamble often, but on the odd occasion I do venture to the casino I don't touch the pokies (I can head down to my local and play those :P), I tend to head straight for the Roulette table. I always play the exact same numbers, I always pay $10 worth of $2 chips on the table per spin, covering 1 straight-up number, 4 numbers via 2 splits, and 8 number via 2 corners and I've only ever lost once :)

Last time I went to Star City I actually got stood up, so I thought "stuff you" and went in and played Roulette by myself and walked away $800 richer 5 hours later :)
 
Every time I have flirted with the gambling world (usually this involves drunken suit-wearing spontenaety at 3am after some two-bit inner city function) I have lost. Every fucking time. Not huge ammounts, just tokenistic $5-10 experiments... But not a taste of victory once on any of these disparate occasions. Talk about negative reinforcement! Gambling holds no allure for me now... Anyway, what stuff my pitiful brain could absorb from 1/2 stats in math methods, yer fucked anyway if you think you can beat the house.
 
Pokies suck. If I didn't suck so much at using them then I would probably have a different opinion but oh well :)
 
i am, unfortunately or fortunately depending on your outlook, in the same boat as -Thoth.

losing - especially losing money - comes naturally & easily to me :D
 
heh my friends try to get me into that, i never trust the pokies machines, i only put in like $2-$5 a go sometimes i come out with anywhere inbetween $30-$50 but yer not much a of a gambler!
 
My BF pulled $100 out of a pokie on the weekend, it wasn't cause he won legit, the machine fucked up and added $100 on to his total!
 
My grandmother put 50cents into a machine (back when you could do that) and won $13,000 !!!!!! I still cant believe it. Her and Pop went on a round-the-world-trip after that :)
 
Like Aishas Star said, I pulled $100 out of a machine just because it had an error!

I had like $5 in there, then it flashed and went up to over 100. I hit collect and $88 came out. I went and cahsed it then i complained bout the machine, so they couldn't take the money it already paid out. It still had $20 credit and they ended up fixing it and giving me the $20!!! Was definately a good night.

Also, i love a bit of roulette. On skoolies last year i made a $300 dollar phone call to my GF from the skoolies cruise satelite phone. Only had like $20 for the rest of the 4 nights so i figured i may as well try and get some back in the casino. Pulled $300 out of the roulette wheel so it all evened out (although i was as high as $600 but i was greedy and lost half).

So yeh, i likes the occasional bet here and there...
 
It was CuTiFuLs 19th B'day.She held it at Star City.
We all went for a few drinks here an there but word got around that if you became a member of the club, you got $10 worth to spend on your membership card.
I played through the evening till I was down to 5 bucks.I won another 5 then played back down 5 again.All of a sudden,not one, not two, but FIVE pyramids all lined up in a row.If I was only betting more credits per line, I would have won thousands! Instead I walked away with 95 smackeroos.
With that money,I had the best night ever! Bought a round of Cogniac for the my boys and treated myself to somethin that..well,put me somewhare else! 8(
I know thats all the luck Im gonna have so I dont really mess with tha pokies anymore.

On the real,They ruin lives in ways that have made me sick.

Only pokies win i took part in was with Shoelace, very very drunk at his local, we were both outta smokes and managed to win money for a pack and more :)

I have only ever gambled 5 times in my life and i think i have won almost every time. I am very cautious, but one time my friends and i were at crown and we were up $750 from $150 that we all put in and i was sick and wanted to leave and we were going to take the money but one friend thought we were in the luck and put it on the big wheel just to see if we would win. He not only lost his money, but mine and my other friends who had not said he could bet on it. He had said he was going to the toilet.

At the time i didn't really care and i really dont care now either, i was too sick and just wanted to go home. I havn't gambled since and i dont think i ever will.
 
I've played the pokies on a couple of occasions and the most I've won is $200.

I feel sorry for people who are addicted to them - its sad...
 
I hate gambeling, I think once I went to the casino and won just over $1000, but that was it, I have never had another big win, everytime I go to the pokies, I am there for like 5 minutes max, lose all my money and walk out pissed off, so now when ever it is suggested, I don't even want to hear about it, I hate the pokies. :p
