I've been taking phenibut daily now for the past couple of years. I've tried to quit several times unsuccessfully. I usually take 7g before work and on my last break i take another 3g's it doesn't work for me anymore it just keeps the withdraw symptoms at bay. I've taken as high as 10g in one dose and it does nothing for me anymore. Any suggestions on a taper plan and how long do you think it would take to kick this stuff for good? I've haven't went a day without phenibut in almost a year because i can't deal with the withdraw. Thanks for reading.

i've never used phenibut, but i hear it's really useful for GBL WDs. if it behaves anything like GBL since both are GABAb agonists, try a slow taper, like removing half a gram a day at the max.

I tried cutting a half a gram a day couldn't handle the anxiety. I 'm currently trying to do 100mg less each day. Maybe a slow taper will be less anxiety provoking? What do you think?

like i said, i can only speak for GBL, which i tapered off once, and slowly tapered down over the course of three weeks. it was definitely not pleasant, but it was handlable.
how many grams are you using per day?

I've been lowering it 100mg a day i'm keeping a log of it today it too. Today i took 6.8g ----- then 2.6g that night 7\11\12 tomorrow i'll take 6.7g ------ then 2.5g 7\12|12. It's going to be slow taper (maybe this way I'll have less anxiety /withdraw issues)And i have plenty of phenibut on hand just ordered 200 grams. Also i have tramadol's and klonopin to help with any withdraw anxiety i might have. Oh and i have social anxiety that's why i take it but it just doesn't work for me now and i'm tired of being addicted to it.

^Good luck with the taper.

100mg a day is probably a good point to start at. Whatever you do, you're going to have some physical discomfort and anxiety associated with discontinuing a GABA-B drug. You've mentioned having anxiety on top of this, and discontinuing will exacerbate that. Keeping the taper slow (as you're doing) will help, but you also need to work on developing new ways to support yourself and deal with the anxiety that led you here in the first place. You may already have some experience with this, but perhaps it would be a good idea to start seeing a psychologist for a bit. They can help you learn how to cope with the anxiety in some ways, which might make your taper more successful (not to mention improve your total quality of life.)

I've been prescribed klonopin in the past it helped somewhat with anxiety. I'm not prescribed at the moment it but my mother has it as soon as my insurance kicks in from my new job in august i plan on seeing if the doc will give me a script for klonopin.
