Hello so I had a small question, I've finally decided to take time to work on myself and are leaving my job and potentially school. My question is how much time minimum will my body/mind need to adjust so I can start working again (Substance we plan to let go of is Kratom), I know it varies for different people. Also is it wiser to take the time to rebuild my mindset or focus on getting back into the world as quickly as possible? We are unsure what our plan of action will be next, we are nervous and feel we are stupid for leaving our job, but we were at a point where we were messing in both academia and work. Yet we are unsure what exactly to focus on, we know we can't just jump right back in, as it takes time, but we are also an adult that will have to rebuild themselves and begin fresh. All we know is what we want to work on personally for the person we wish to become, but find our mind clouding us with fear and uncertainty, plus we are older so know it will be harder (3 decades) ;-(

For anyone else that had to go through this even if a different situation but essentially where you had to start over, how did you get through it? Did you just jump in or plan it to a T?

Thank you for your time.

Be honest with yourself as well as objective. Usually when I take time off I intuitively know when it is time to return to the rat race.

Yeah we can only plan so much. Some people are planners, some are not - for some it's a control thing, or an anxiety thing. Sometimes I'll make a short term, medium term, and long term goal. And then have contingency ideas incase any of those fall off. But as @M!$TER-ED was saying, it's probably an intuitive thing that you'll feel.

Your mindset you carry with you all the time @RepeatedIgnorance2c-74 . You can change location, change jobs, change relationships - but your mindset will dictate how you experience all of those things, anyway.

So I totally see validity in taking the time to give yourself some grace in figuring out the best path to take. And it may not be obvious, it may not be clear and sudden, so if you keep and open mind and treat each day as a brand new experience, you might naturally start gravitating toward things that are meaningful to you.
