Phenibut is a legal, apparently safe (especially in these sort of doses) readily available GABA derivative that binds to the GABA-B receptor. Benzos in all their forms bind to the GABA-A receptor. I have no idea how safe it is to mix these two, and it certainly makes you pass out unexpectedly so I do not at all recommend trying this, but here's a trip report anyhow:
I was bored, and had left all the stimulants in a safe place to stop me binging on them, so naturally I was scouring the house for anything I might have accidentally forgotten. After a while I gave up on my hunt, resigning myself to my fate, and started guzzling valium. Three 10mg valium and 5 1mg etizolam later i was feeling reasonably calm and relaxed, but I don't generally feel there's very much excitement to be had from straight up benzos by themselves. I thought I'd see what happened if I mixed some phenibut in, as I'd had good results with this before when on a bit of an MDMA comedown. I prepared some capsules with 700mg Phenibut, 300mg caffeine and 200mg 5-HTP. I don't believe the caffeine or 5-HTP had/has any real effects, I just hoped it might keep me awake a bit after all the benzos, and the 5-HTP was just next to the caffeine so I thought why not?
Note that at this point, even in spite of all the benzos, I did not feel the slightest bit drowsy. Also note that the benzo count is just those that I remember, and those of you experienced with benzos will be aware that this might be seriously underestimating the amount I actually took.
20 minutes in, the delicious Phenibut relaxation came on in waves, infinitely enhancing the valium effects, settling me down into a wonderful warm couch locky feeling that I can only really compare to that of an opiate. No worries, no cares, just warm happy bliss. The downside to this wonderous experience is very similar to that of drinking on benzos, in that the next thing I knew I woke up 12 hours later in bed, although still feeling the valium/phenibut combination (the etizolam would have worn off hours before).
This is a combination I will certainly be trying again, perhaps with a higher Phenibut dose, and less benzos, as it's exponentially nicer than either of them independently (even though I did pass out for most of it!)
