Benzos phenazepam or etizolam?

I realize etizolam isnt exactly a benzo but it works in pretty much the same way..

Which is the more quick acting? Ive read that etizolam also doesn't have much in the way of withdrawals if you end up knee deep in them, but this shouldnt really be a factor in choice I think.. In any case I want to have some sort of benzo on hand for trips to wind things down if I get tired or if things go awry, and maybe just to experiment with from time to time. I have access to both in a [relatively/supposedly] pure powder form, and both cost about the same, appear to have similar doses (1mg~ for users without a tolerance).

I scanned through much of the etizolam thread and there are differing opinions, I heard a few people say to just go with phenazepam because 'its better' and the same is true for etizolam..

Can anyone give me some idea of what may suit my needs better? I don't really suffer from any sort of anxiety or anything of the sort, so any use would pretty much purely be recreational in the sense that I'd be using it for the mind altering aspect, but as I said also as somewhat of a failsafe should a trip go awry..

Thanks

I took phenazepam a while ago and a week of my life disappeared from space and time.

Etizolam's closest "relatives" are drugs like triazolam (Halcion) and alprazolam (Xanax). fast onset, short duration.

Phenazepam's closest relative is clonazepam (Klonopin), or maybe diazepam (Valium). slower onset, very long duration, and less "recreational".

Phenazepam also lasts much, much longer (5-10x easily). Lots of people have problems with phenazepam where they black out for multiple days on end, not so much with etizolam.

Ive heard of that.. not too keen on the idea of blacking out.. Havent heard that from etizolam, but then again thats just because I haven't heard of it, no idea if thats isolated but seems to be a benzo thing if you take too much right?

edit:

Yeah.. I guess etizolam it is. That scares the fuck out of me to be completely honest with you. And you mention etizolam being faster acting which I guess is more in line with what I would want in the event I need to "abort" a heavy trip or the like..

Phenazepam takes hours to start working and lasts for more than 24 hours making it a poor choice for the indication you mentioned. Coupled with the fact that it often feels like it's having little or no effects when in reality you are extremely fucked up & will have no memory of anything starting several hours after dosing. Because it takes so long to work and seems to have little effect, it's easy to make the mistake of taking too much. It is a pretty crappy benzo overall.

Etizolam on the other hand works quickly and you can feel it kick in & is a great sleep aid. I've never had a blackout (though never taken more than 2mg)

Blacouts are a common effect of all benzodiazepines, yeah. I think the reason you don't hear about it with etizolam is for a few reasons.
1. Etizolam is newer on the scene than phenazepam (= there has been less time to report dose fuckups)
2. Etizolam has a faster onset than clonazepam, and shorter duration, so it's easier to titrate your dose. If you take too much etizolam, you're fine in a few hours. Too much phenaz and your week is... gone.
3. Phenazepam was at one point essentially pennies per dose... etizolam seems to cost more, generally speaking, so there are fewer instances of people e.g. snorting lines of it, or bombing 250mg at once.
4. Phenazepam is subtle at best. As oar9fi said, lots of people don't even notice they're blacked out.

I would think that bombing 250mg of a substance active at 1mg would lead to death no? lol.

In any case yeah, totally seems like Etizolam it is. I guess Phenaz has its place for people suffering from anxiety and the like who need a long acting substance that works 'behind the scenes'.. I just wondered because I came across a vendor who is actually local who sells both at approximately the same price and I had seen some mentions of phenaz before.. but it doesnt seem like something I'd be interested in after all. Just wanted to be sure :)

I work with machine tools and the likes and I can't imagine being blacked out and going to work and so on and so forth.. cooking food.. ugh. The thought legitimately puts terror into me.

good idea every few days I think about what happened and what my friends told me I did and I think how lucky I am still here

You'd be surprised. Part of the reasons benzos are so popular is you can basically overdose them a thousandfold before life-threatening problems set in. Otherwise you either fall unconscious for a long time, or behave erratically with no short-term memory. At least, as long as you don't add other depressants.

With barbiturates, you'd just fall into the slumber of death.

As the label on the prescription bottle would say, don't take benzos in the 4-6 hours before you have to work with equipment, machinery or vehicles.

Well, I can't imagine why anyone would want to do such a thing, at least without the goal of death in mind. Nevermind the monetary loss.. the stuff is pretty cheap when doing 1mg at a time but eating your whole stash at once.. Im under the impression that Etizolam would be noticeable at even .5mg for a 'noob' and that 1-2mg can have you pretty 'high' so I just can't imagine why someone would want to 'bomb' that much unless they specifically had personal harm in mind.

Painkillers would have the same warning and I assume its for the 'hazy' effects they induce, though Ive never really used a benzo at all so I dont entirely know how they affect you.. in any case, I definitely wouldn't be using anywhere or anytime near work to say the least lol. I know some people do crazy stuff like go to work and do shopping and so on and so forth while tripping.. but not this guy :o
