So here is the deal. Im currently clean of all drugs and substances. I passed a ten panle drug test the other day. And i have more in the future. Its not so much the test im worried about though. Ive been passing test since gettin out of prison in feb 08. But I have made a vow to not smoke any herb until my next harvest. Which im planning for after the new years. I have also detoxed off of opiates a few weeks back. And i quit taking benzos because of the memory loss and long half life in my system when pissing for test. I am also considering stopping drinking beer and hard drinks for the time being.

I am looking for ways to get my health back up from a rather large opiate problem and several other things. I was using around 128mg of dilaudid IV daily. And then I had a heart attack following full organ failure in august of 08. Im only 23 and about 145 pounds. I am lookin for any and all ways to get healthier. All ideas and recommendations are appreciated. Ive started to walk some trials. But dont now what else to do. I have no wieghts and no money to go to the gym. thanks for any and all help..

stretching
sit ups
push ups/diamond push ups
pull ups
standing squats

these are all basics and should give you a good jumping off point. do 2 sets of 10 reps of each of these. if its too easy go up and down if its too hard. I can't recommend any cardio due to your previous heart problem.

Thanks. I was doing some of these when i was in prison. But once I got out I hit the binge train hard.

I also need to get eating healthy I geuss.

regular sleep, exercise, and diet are the basic building blocks of a healthy style. google "basic healthy eating/ basic exercise/ basic diet/ ect" it should give you a more in depth view of what you are looking for.

A heart attack at 23!!

Agreed with above poster, the best thing to do is give yourself a routine. It provides more overall stability-- especially after your whole system is still "wobbly" and adjusting to sobriety. It also hedges your expectations-- if you falter in one area (e.g. food, diet, or exercise), you have the other components that you can stick to.

Try to do gentle yoga and walks in the woods. Drink lots of fluids and stay away from artificial food. Try to cook your own food, or get friends/family to join for meals.

Pharms can fuck your liver up majorly, they did mine. Try taking a light tea of lemongrass (or other blood-cleansing herb), make a pot of it and drink like water throughout. Sleep early and wake up early, don't eat heavy meals before sleeping.

Don't stress if you miss out on your routine or slip with your drug diet. It happens. Just remind yourself why you are trying to be healthy and get back on track.

Congratulations Indicameds! That is no easy feat at all, and I am proud of you.
Echoing what everybody said, just take it day by day. Sleep well (and at normal hours...)
eat healthy, nutricious food (try to stay away from junk and empty calories), drink lots of water, eat lots of fruit and vegetables. Try walking or some form of light exercise.
Breathe in fresh air. Just take it day by day...dont worry about the future so much, just get yourself through the day.
There are SOO many threads in this forum alone about eating healthy.
A good nights sleep can do wonders for your disposition the next day, trust me!

All good advice guys. Thanks.
And yeah the heart attack was pretty bad on me. I had renal failure (kidney shut down) and then my left ventrical closed and with my kidneys shut down and my heart running on half power it was just too much. It resulted in full organ failure. 7 days in a coma and then 13 more on life support. And bed ridden for 2 months. I lost all my muscle mass and had to learn to walk again. But once i got out I started right back up, resulting in another smaller OD that didnt cause another heart attack. I was on dialysis treatments for ahwile and had a stint put in for it until my kidneys started working right again. Now that most of my health is back (im not healthy) but I can jog/run and do simple exercises again. I have decided its not worth it and I need to stop the binging and get healthy if I plan on living..

Thanks guys. I appreciate all the advice.

I echo mariacallas in her kudos to you :D Keep us posted on your thoughts and state and we hope to see you more round here!

While my problems are nowhere near the severity of yours, I want to mention something that has been working for me. I recently began to notice some circulation issues and tightness in my chest after about a year of heavy smoking, general inactivity, and a fatty diet. While quitting smoking I started using this supplement called "Kyolic Detox and Anti-Aging formula". This contains the Aged Garlic Extract that is all that is in the "Cardiovascular formula" as well as moderate amounts of vitamins A, C, E (all antioxidants as well as other things) and the mineral selenium. It also contains some other stuff like milk thistle and green tea leaf powder that are good for your cardiovascular system, cleansing your organs, and antioxidation. Anyways to cut this short I just want to say that I have noticed a palpable difference since I started taking this in the speed of my recovery from the smoking. My energy has been coming back quicker and I feel less of that sickly quivery feeling. I know you say you have no money, but it's like 14 bucks for a month's supply. You might want to give it a try.

Thanks tree. Ill give it a shot. I mean i got some money but i got a little one I gotta support. So the monthly fee's of a gym is out the question right now until the economy picks up and work is back to normal. But im sure i can pull off some money for some things like that. Thanks for the advice.

I havent smoked herb in awhile becuase of test and shit. But I actively grow and am deep into the Legalization, norml and such. Going to all the rallies and meetings and just anything i can do to help end prohibition. That is the one thing I planned to return to when I can. But I would like to think Im a healthy smoker. Using a valcano vaporizer and eating edibles. But I think heavy pot users even need a short break from it after awhile.

Do something fun and healthy. I like to box, it's a thrill, you get to beat people up.

food is huge in my opinion (as important as exercise). when i detoxed off opiates my energy levels dropped significantly. i started eating whole foods and instantly felt a difference. i also noticed that i rarely ate healthy when addicted. hardly ever ate fruits for example and when i began again i felt sooo much better. we are what we eat afterall.

congrats on your progress thus far, and good luck with the future.
