Hello fellow BlueLighter's,

This is only like my third post on BL, but I lurk every day, and saok up info.. %) If I posted this thread in the wrong place I am sorry, please move it elsewhere if need be.

Ok, so I am a bit confused now..
I have been extensively looking into Pentedrone (2-(methylamino)-1-phenylpentan-1-one ).
What I am really looking for, is a good MDPV replacement, or a substance with similar dosages and effects as MDPV.

PENTEDRONE.jpg

This is Pentedrone's chemical structure, and this is the diagram used by Wikipedia, as well as by one of my vendors, who uses this chemical structure to represent Pentedrone ( 2-(methylamino)-1-phenylpentan-1-one ).

So what is THIS ? This is from another supplier that I use. They "just" got it in. It is labled as Pentedrone, with no full chemical name, and uses THIS diagram to represent Pentedrone.

Forgive my lack of chemistry knowledge. Are these two molecular structures BOTH of Pentedrone ? I know the the top molecule is what I want, but I'm not sure of the second diagram. Is this just a different way to represent the same chemical.

( Namely, Pentedrone - (( 2-(methylamino)-1-phenylpentan-1-one ).

Do both of these diagrams represet Pentedrone ? And if not, can anyone Indentify the second compound..?

Thanks in advance to anyone who may be able to help.

The first structure correctly shows "pentedrone" (2-(methylamino)-1-phenylpentan-1-one). The second structure is not one particular compound, but a general structure of a substituted cathinone. By varying the substituents R1 through R4 you can define pretty much any cathinone derivative you want. For pentedrone, R1 = H, R2 = ethyl, R3 = H and R4 = methyl (R3 and R4 are equivalent and could be interchanged). The drawing seems to be borrowed from the wiki entry on substituted cathinones.

I don't know if the 'kicks like a mule' thing was supposed to be a joke, but anyway that's bollocks. "Substituted cathinone" isn't one particular compound and it could be anything with a cathinone backbone.

Ok, I see.. Thanks guys, that is what I thought. I knew that the R's had to represent something. That makes sense.

So, I guess my only other question is: As far as an MDPV replacement (in effect and dosage), Pentedrone or a-PVP ? Anyone have any experience? Which do you prefer?

Thanks again.
