I know this is just slang. But recently I've seen the majority of people here on the AUS discussions using the american slang term rolling instead of the traditional aussie term peaking.

Somehow it's starting to get to me, even though i know it's just slang, but those yankees have already conditioned us, if not the world to live by there culture, so stick up for your selves and resists the urge to say rolling.

Be a true Aussie and peak

:)

Crank up the gramophone, here's some Bluelight history!

Really, it's not that new of a term here. I think you're a bit late if you think you'll rid the BL world of this US term before it becomes commonly used Aussie slang.

A search in the Archives from this forum revealed a total of 376 threads using the word between 18-11-99 and 05-12-2001. To be fair, a few used the word in it's original context but most referred to it as per peaking.

In fact our own Johnboy was one of the first to describe the effects of MDMA with the term, narrowly missing out on first place by a few hours to Roy**E* from Asia who at the end of his post, wished everyone "Happy Rolling".

No I'm afraid it's here to stay. Besides, to a newbee, who's inquiring to the effects of MDMA the idea of rolling -along- when on MDMA sounds a bit smoother and easier to handle than peaking -hard- don't cha think?

I use rollin' rather than rolling, due to my slurred speech while under the influence ;)

I use a combination... because your peak is really the apex of the experience, but unless you eat multiple pills in a night chasing the peak, then you really don't spend the night peaking. So, you come up hard, peak for a little while, then plateau and slowly roll back down the other side of the peak back to baseline =D

rolling has been around for ages, i always thought it was because while mashed you let the night take you whereever aka roll with it. :)

Where there is demand, there is supply. Stop blaming the yanks for everything. If you don't like their culture, stop watching their movies, reading about them or say "soccer" when you mean "football". The fact is that most here in Australia like it and want it. Where there is demand, there is supply - not the other way around.

On the topic of the word "rolling", I couldn't give a rats arse who made it up. I like it.

Our group of mates use the simple phrase..........Glued to the wall or Glued.

It sort of sums everything up for us.

not sure if this word is used anywhere else in australia but a popular term in perth is 'gurn'
ie. rolling = gurning

Gurning is actually also a term for the sideways jaw movement that can result from high doses of MDMA, which makes you do wierd facial expressions.

Hey guys... 1st post here, pretty useless tho, us boys call it PINGING. Prolly coz we're all a bunch car fanatics. By the way... great forum!

im with en_warp on this... i`ll stick to 'peaking'
it describes it the best, sounds the best imo, and shows a bit of aussie pride....:)

I've never heard "pinging" used in Sydney... Just peaking or rolling.

This thread is stupid... :)
