So in 2014 I opened up an official small business selling my art. I made some money at it up through the start of 2015, but I never actually reported anything, I meant to at the end of 2014 but I had already given up on the business by then and I sort of forgot. I started getting noticed, but every time I went to work on it I got confused and it just sort of slipped my mind. However it's been hanging over my head in some form or another for over 2 years. Well, today I realized that damn, it's been almost to the 3 year point and I've heard that they will come after you after 3 years. So I opened the latest notice and called the department. I eventually talked to the collections agent that was assigned to me (yikes!), she was really nice. She entered in 0 reported sales for 2015 on and closed the business for me, and told me exactly where to go to file the 4 quarters of 2014 where I did make some money. I just finished doing that and paying, I only owed ~$36. And now it's all done. Finally! I didn't even realize how much of a load off that would be... I feel silly for not sitting down and calling them 2 years ago. Anyway, it's all good now, the state is happy with me again. :)

actually even the IRS people are almost always pretty good to you even if you're calling about like $36k (or more even, that was an approximate figure for me at one time.) it is better to call because you will get shit deducted eventually especially fucking with the IRS who as opposed to most state tax agencies who can only take a % can take you down to like $100 a week or something ridiculous

make the call or better yet have your lawyer do it

most people in most circumstanes bare exactly zero chance of winding up in handcuffs for tax evasion but they sure can make your life difficult

So I fucked up hard. A friend sent me "a lot" of acid in the mail last week that his friends laid themselves, white on white family shit, the last stuff I had from them was the strongest I've ever had, and today when he messaged me to ask if I'd received it yet I realized I hadn't included my fucking apartment number in the address I gave him, and there's no management at this complex, so I just lost myself I'm sure 25-100 hits of the strongest shit I could imagine. GOD FUCKING DAMNIT UUUGGGHHHHH

It's not so big a deal on the grand scheme of things seeing as I really don't need it, the ALD-52 I have along with the other chemicals will last me awhile, and I just decided on Saturday that I really need to be going down the -DMT path anyways, LSD doesn't have anything else to show me right now, but still. Losing that much acid is hard to accept and not beat oneself up for.

Yea I'm going to have to take this as a learning opportunity to a) always double check addresses but more importantly b) not beat myself up for this. It's a lot of lost magic for myself and others but instead of making myself feel like shit and lament the fact that I lost so much, I have the opportunity to instead find peace in knowing I never needed it in the first place, someone else who needs it more than I do could possibly find it, and a whole myriad of other positives.

no, what you need is (a) a well done fake ID; (b) well done corresponding doumentation (this should set you back less than $500, you may think you can do the latter on your own but the texture, perforation, etc. of the paper matters, and you cannot do part (a) unless you are knowledgeable enough in this part of tradecraft that it should be already a source of income in the scene) and a PO box (not at the federal PO but at one of many copy shops that offer the service, etc.) which again for a year is going to run you less than $500 which I imagine a dime is significantly less than the hit that you just took oh wait, "a lot" is a pretty subjective quantity, unfortunately not to the feds

but if you fear 'losing magic' rather than losing your freedom your priorities are all out of whack. probably it's be returned to sender and probably the sender doesn't exist which could lead to some complications on your end but probably not, it would be advisable to clean house including all electronic devices for i'm not exactly how long I cannot tell you. to ease your mind. forget losing magic. forget feeling like shit. fear raw, existential terror (although don't worry, you'll be dealing with, at worst, a kid glove club fed type facility if no priors and if you can pull off a sort of geeky white kid look for the judge; ProTip: a little time in one of those can actually better than parole and having a record is the worst aspect of having a conviction, anyhow). but anyway, be afraid, and take the appropriate measures. and then learn from it.

another tip: "family crystal" is advertising, 100%, and those of us who played in that game get a good chuckle when it's used in earnest

as is the case for everyone else who orders RCs and stuff why people to do it to their own home I'm thoroughly uncomprehending.

I've never had any problems ordering to my home, of course I am also ordering very small personal amounts. Probably had shit sent to my residence 100 or more times since 2005. Psy, it seems like you shouldn't have anything to worry about since the apt # isn't even there.

I use the tramadol about four times a year, mainly when I have to be around the in-laws for extended periods. Thanks to the NHS (which the current government are putting under immense pressure) I get a prescription of 100 50mg tabs for the princely sum of £8.40. Plus the operation and hospital stays were completely free of course! Can't believe that the Conservative government would even consider privatising it!

Big money (for a few) in privatizing health care. Seems like a serious backward step to go from public health care to private. I hope it doesn't happen for you guys... I'm in the US and I'm lucky to have a good job where I pay group health insurance rates, but I'm still paying ~$200/month (pre-tax) and I have to pay the first $400 out of pocket and then pay $20 copays always for regular visits and $40 for specialists... $100 for emergency room visits.

and BTW, everyone....hi. I visit this thread whenever I find the time but rarely say hi.:)<3

Hey herbie. <3 Nice to see you here!

It's already handled, I just called. I ended up paying like $23, I hardly had any income to report because by the time I registered for a business I was almost done selling art. I was just slacking in a serious manner. It feels good to have it off my chest.

Had some great jams tonight, I haven't felt that on in quite some time. Funny because I kinda felt like shit going into it, but I knew that I wouldn't regret going to play music. And now I feel great. :)

^I've also ordered probably over 100 times to my address. That's why I don't do it anymore, one time it will get busted and I don't want my house to get searched.

another problem with the Internet.

people put a lot of faith in encryption, etc. but it's never cracking encryption that gets people it's having the system compromised some other way.

and for everything you put out there on the Internet, it's more or less on a permanent record.

I know this. And people reading my internet history around could learn a whole lot about me that could get me in serious trouble; so if any of you guys are reading this please, I'm still interested in a consultant gig, dead serious.

SKL I'm sure it was no more than a sheet, if that even. You really think there's reason to worry that it would a) be opened instead of thrown out b) if opened and seen what it was not only not taken by an employee but reported and c) law enforcement then get involved?

originally when I kinda skimmed your post I read "a lot" and was thinking at least a tenpack/several/a gram; you'll probably be OK, emphasis on probably, but it's better to freak the fuck out, clean house like a paranoid maniac, and take it a lesson in taking proper precautions. you're not doing something that's OK by law, you're a criminal, even if it feels OK in your social circles, you're an outlaw and a criminal and you need the proper accoutrements which in this case include at least one fake ID and postal box, but please, all of you, don't forget, you are fucking criminals. whatever perspective you have on the drugs you take doesn't negate this and won't negate the ability of the government to prosecute you if a case falls into their lap .the probability of that I can't really hardly begin to form an estimate although it will vary wildly depending on where you live.

Finally I have great speakers (Dali Zensor 1) and an amplifier. I love music so much

Maybe the secret to getting no feelings from it, is not being exposed to it that much during childhood or generally at semi young age? You're never too old to fall in love with music, but it's probably easier if you associate emotional experiences with hearing music from a young age... and another part of your affinity is inborn I bet.

Having some poppy radio channel on at work or at home while doing other things is more like filling a void of silence and recognizing poppy songs that play every couple hours (giving you what the german call Ohrwürmer, or earworms) imo... I've had a girlfriend whose musical affinity was like that and saying she liked 'various kinds of music' if asked. I certainly respect that but don't think it's the same sort of musical appreciation as getting particular about your tastes in music.
Another option of course is going to live shows / parties / festivals / concerts and certainly appreciating it intensely, even losing yourself in the music <3 without really necessarily developing your palet for it.

Music can mean so many different things to different people. :)

Scientists have long known about amusia, a specific impairment in music perception that can be either innate or acquired — for instance, as a result of brain damage. This impairment can prevent people from processing music in the way most people do. But the participants in the new study did not have amusia, and yet they were still indifferent to music, the researchers found.

"What we found was that there were people who specifically didn't enjoy music, but they enjoyed other kinds of rewards," said study author Josep Marco-Pallarés of the University of Barcelona.

I read your other link yeah its interesting :)

I wonder if there is something like Capgras syndrome but with music, where you recognize songs but believe that they are not the real versions but all played by cover bands lol..

A guy I work with is like that. I picked him up from the airport one day when he was visiting for some training, and I asked him what music he wanted to listen to. He was like, I don't really listen to music, I've never really understood what people see in it. He said he has this one jazz CD he listens to sometimes, he didn't even know what it was called.

Lol, I have a friend who is also like that. He claims to "not like music". He says he doesn't dislike it, but he wouldn't miss music if he didn't listen to any song ever again. What's weird is that when we were teenagers he used to be a huge metalhead and we discovered many bands together. Then he grew tired of that music, which is understandable, but says he never again found real enjoyment in any other music. He also says that ultimately he found out that he "doesn't understand music", and feels like it's something in which he can't participate, he is always an spectator. So that kinda bores him (Which I find a kind of narcissitic way of relating to things?)

I find it absolutely confusing, I can barely tolerate a day without music. Playing, listening and composing music is such an important part of my life, ha.

...And by extension, I think music is a huge part of why I do drugs in the first place, he. Concerts, dancing, listening, sometimes even composing... It's all greatly enhanced by drugs hahaha. Music and drugs <3

Haha that's a funny thought. It's like something I would expect in a Monty Python sketch.

This album is great, xammy! I wish I had my big 12" subwoofer but unfortunately it's on a long term loan to a good friend due to living in an apartment complex :'( Any other recommendations for other albums or EPs of his to listen to? I'm on Tetra right now and this one is sooooo nice

Hmm... IDK how I'm supposed to find a legit roommate. Nobody I know IRL needs a roommate, I don't want to room with some Craigslist rando. Does anyone here know anybody looking for a roommate? :P

Honestly I'm in a bit of a similar position. Ironically, I'm pursuing music production as a profession, but that's only because I think it's one thing I can manage to do with reasonable competency, and I need to pay rent, not because I particularly love music; although I do enjoy making it quite a bit more than listening to it.

When I do listen to music nowadays, it's in small doses, about once every couple weeks, and it has to be selected from a very small handful of artists that I actually can stand to hear.

Do you guys prefer source direct on or off? depends on the music I guess

What is source direct?

What is source direct?

It's a setting on AV receivers having to do with, as far as I know, whether the signal is manipulated at all ie. EQ, etc. before being sent to the speakers. I could be wrong but that's what I've always assumed. I was about to say that I always keep it on direct but I just checked and mine's actually set on stereo. According to some quick googling having it on direct can improve sound quality if you don't need any EQing, phase control, sound stage manipulation, etc.

Wow you're like a unicorn! I can't imagine making the decision to produce music based on wanting to make money! Of course one can end up making a lot of money making music but it's not the norm. If I was supporting myself on my music I'd be destitute...

How broad is your base of music? To me there's an endless stream of good music. If you listen to the nationally popular stuff from any genre it's mostly crap, but there's so much stuff out there, I could list you stuff that's amazing all day long.

Source direct, also known as tone defeat or bypass, is a sound engineering term. It describes a feature on a piece of audio equipment which allows the audio effect such as bass and treble controls to be bypassed, leaving the sound unaltered by the equipment. This has two functions:

It allows the effects unit to be bypassed without the need to unplug it
It allows the isolation of part of a piece of equipment, such as an audio amplifier's tone controls, without affecting the rest of the functions.

music sounds so pure with it turned on
