Misc Paradoxical Reaction or something else...?

Last night, I woke up 3 hours after falling asleep... wide awake and with a crazy, ecstasy-like body high... except relaxed somehow, and not all tensed up like what usually happens. I didn't feel the urge to touch soft things, although it felt nice and I even ran my hand over my sheets for a while. And I didn't have any mental affects like the urge to call people and tell them I love them, except for the fact that I was wide awake. It was purely a body high with some stimulation. Took me a while to fall back asleep, but when I did, it was light and dreamless. I woke up this morning (about 7 hours later) feeling the same way, but less pronounced. It actually feels a bit like an E comedown, but without the tenseness and horrible anxiety. Just slight fatigue, chills, and nausea... nothing too unbearable.

I took Valium, Fioricet (a barbituate), and Lexapro (an anxiolytic/anti-depressant) right before going to bed. It was the first time I'd ever taken Valium or Lexapro, I was just prescribed them yesterday. Given the fact that I had two sedatives in my body and the fact that Lexapro takes 4-6 weeks to start working... I should have been out for the count. You know, sedated. And I guess in some ways I was... but in other ways, I definitely was not.

So does this sound like a paradoxical reaction? An E flashback? I can't imagine a flashback would last this long, though. Any other theories? I absolutely HATE any kind of stimulant... I guess my mind has been trained to associate them with horrible anxiety, and I do not even like the body high... so I kind of want to hear your guys' ideas and then play around with it until I figure out which drug caused it... and then make sure it never happens again. I know it wasn't the Fioricet, because I've taken it before... maybe it's a combination of the three?

Ugh idk. This is weird. I've never had this happen before... idk what to think. :\

It sounds to me like the Lexapro was just hitting you. Depite what doctors say (that SSRIs take up to 3 weeks to start working), that's a worst case scenario and often you can feel effects off of only one dose.

I think you may be right; I did a Google search earlier on the Lexapro and looked at a ton of different websites, and it seems to add up. I suppose it makes sense, seeing as how SSRI's and E don't work that much differently. The only difference between them is that SSRI's prevent the serotonin from being sucked back in too quickly, and E simply reverses the direction of which the serotonin is going as well as doing what an SSRI does. I don't know for sure, but it could be that the sudden presence of so much serotonin triggered a flashback or something. I've had flashbacks with both shrooms and E before that were so small they were practically unnoticeable... just a small sensation somewhere... but this was freaking intense. I DID NOT like it at all.

Anyhow, I'm going to give myself the rest of today to recover, and then take another Lexapro tomorrow, except in the morning instead of at night. That way I can be awake to monitor when and how it affects my body. I'm not going to write it off as something horrible just yet until I've tried it during the day... who knows, it might make me more productive. And if I still don't like it, well, then I just know not to take it ever again! Problem solved.

Thanks for clearing that up sekio :)
