Hey all,

A few months ago i had a really bad experience while smoking and i was wondering if anyone could help me understand what happened.

I was smoking with some mates, i'd taken panadol (paracetamol) about 1-2hrs before. I smoked 4 cones (of what i'd call chronic) over 30min.

Immediatly after the last cone i started feeling severe mental pain (hope that makes sense). I had to lay down because movement, sound, light, everything in a sense "hurt" me.

I started feeling abit better after half an hr and went to lay down outside when i started throwing up. Not the normal vomiting though, it was violent. If i hadnt been holding onto a railing i would have fallen into my own vomit. This happened about every 20 seconds for 10min.

I still smoke and it hasnt happened since.

Has this ever happened to anyone else?

Does anyone know what could have caused it?

I think it might have been the panadol but im not game to use myself as a test subject just incase im right.

I doubt the APAP (acetaminophen) itself had anything to do with it. I know when I take any pill, if I don't eat something with it (unless it's a softgel) I'll get nausea. Also, you said you got a headache, I find it pretty hard to get a headache after taking APAP.

Cannabis is given to cancer patients to counter the nausea and vomiting associated with chemotherapy, which is usually pretty violent. If anything, smoking would have suppressed it. I can tell you myself if I have a stomachache, or if I'm feeling queasy that as soon as I smoke Cannabis (even Cannabinoids) the feeling goes away within a couple of minutes.

There are too many variables for us to determine exactly what it could be, but, you never know with the quality of the Cannabis you're getting on the street. It could have been something the grower used or pesticides or an assortment of other things that were in the pot that didn't react well with your body on that particular day. You could have even had an allergic reaction to the Panadol brand itself, you never know. Either way, in the future, use ibuprofen instead :)
