Palestine discussion

Yeah I would be interested to see that actually.
It's puzzling why there wasn't a larger coordinated effort by rich, powerful countries like Egypt to take in Palestinian refugees in the lead up to war.
It's almost like they had an aversion to it for some reason.
Or perhaps Hamas was doing everything they could to prevent civilians from evacuating?
Or both.
Yeah, I mean Jews immigrating to Israel after 1948 ain't too surprising. Thought that was the point. I'd be unshocked to see Palestinian refugees increasing in a directly proportional fashion to the influx.

Well, if it were directly proportional, there would be basically no Palestinians left at all.
Also note the numbers in 1972 versus now. Not just 48.

Directly proportional just means related by direct variation, not that the quantities are equal.
Yeah, I'm sure it's been a process. '48 is when is started and the bulk of it seems to be between '48 and '72.

I've always wondered why Palestine's Muslim neighbors refused to take any refugees or seemingly help in any way, other than professing their shared racist hatred of Jews.

When Ukraine was invaded, dozens of western countries absorbed several million Ukranian refugees without question.

Yeah, I mean if Hamas had allowed the free evacuation of civilians and neighboring countries had facilitated their entry...

Israel would've been able to effectively execute their military objectives in a very short amount of time.
Civilian death would have been extremely minimal.
Hamas' most effective tool to garner sympathy (civilian casualties) would be gone.

Gee, I wonder why they didn't allow that to happen... 🤔

Lebanon is home to 270,000 Palestinian refugees now. More correctly, the descendants of the Palestinians who originally fled. Wonder if they will ever go home.

All sides suck all different ways. The question remains, where should they go? Where do they get to live?

So, they should all just go to other countries and stay?

There are almost 2 million living in Israel itself as citizens. Which is another reason I think a lot of leftists don't really understand the situation. There are more Palestinians living in Israel as free democratic citizens than those displaced in Gaza. Yet they compare it to the holocaust? There were no Jewish "civilians" in Nazi Germany....

Although, where should they go indeed?

Whose obligation is it to receive refugees?

what does being jewish have to do with anything? can we stay on topic?

are war crimes ok?
THEY BOTH SUCK. WAR SUCKS. WAR IS HELL. I DON'T KNOW WHAT I WOULD DO IN A WAR AND NEITHER DO YOU.

But, again, where do the Palestinians have to go, even if they were willing to leave their homeland? And saying they should just be absorbed by other countries into squalid refugee camps is fucking ridiculous.

If you back me (and my family) into a corner, I'll fight pretty hard.

Why are the Israelis (not the Jews) unwilling to let the Palestinians have the West Bank and Gaza and leave them the fuck alone? It's less than a quarter of what used to be their homeland, isn't it?

Until further notice it will be understood as a sign of lower solidarity.

please change your name, you're defaming one of the world's best musicians.
This is going off topic, just as your low effort insult was, but I firmly believe Madlib and the general rap community would celebrate my rap nerdiness and dedication to the craft.

I also wouldn't assume every artist you respect also follows your own political persuasions.
