If lethargy is what you are trying to battle you can try modafinil which works great for some people. It will give you a nice stable burst of energy all day (depending on how intense your fatigue actually is).
Also, some ssris gave me a boatload of energy during paws by their mere ability to reverse depression. Lethargy/fatigue can cause depression, and depression can cause lethargy/fatigue. So its hard to tell when you're in paws which symptoms are the dominant ones and which ones are side effects of the dominant symptoms. But lexapro was so effective at reversing my depression last time off opiates, that I don't recall being even a little bit tired during paws. I'm actually not sure till this day if I even had paws due to the lexapro.
And lex is a thousand times easier to get off of compared to something like effexor (which is commonly prescribed for opiate wds/paws).
Benzos imo are prob the worse thing you could be taking. I mean they WILL help with anxiety, but won't do shit for depression/fatigue. And the fact is they are only going to sedate you further, possibly amplifying depression in certain people.
I would tell your doc to prescribe you some modafinil, try it solo first and see if its enough. If its not enough, consider getting on something like lex WITH modafinal short term. You can stay on the benzo for 2-3 weeks till the lex kicks in, and at that point I'd get off the benzos. The lex/modafinil should do a much better job imo. If however you get an overstimulating effects from the modafinil, it could also help just to have the benzo on an "as needed" basis.
But I'm not sure I would personally take a benzo for paws, (if thats the phase you're in you didn't actually mention). If its for acute wds it would help better, but once that fatigue settles any sort of sedative is prone to exacerbate it.
Seriously try the lex/modafinil combo, I think you'll like it wayyy better plus its not addictive like benzos either (but obviously you still taper off the lex).
