Looks like an older-generation antidepressant. I can't find much about the pharmacology but my guess is that it would be a NE and DA reuptake inhibitor. Interesting how it shares the same positioning of the morpholine ring as phenmetrazine, plus it's metabolically stable without the alpha-methyl group...

Tertiary amine means theres probably not DA affinity, though. And the trifluoromethyl group makes me think of the 5HT2b agonists that were pulled from the market.

Probably not a great one, but this is approved for US prescription? If so, that'd exempt it from analogue status.

Phendimetrazine has plenty of DA affinity. Same with prolintane, fencamfamine, etc.

I think N-isopropyl-3-phenylmorpholine would be an interesting compound.

^^ Actually, phendimetrazine is completely inactive by itself. However, it is a prodrug: about 30% is metabolized to phenmetrazine in vivo, so it is still a wonderful compound (in fact, it is the only experience with phenmetrazine that I have, but it was still a good experience). Phendimetrazine is what benzphetamine is to regular amphetamine. Prolintane and fencamfamine are DAT inhibitors rather than substrates, so phendimetrazine should logically be a DAT inhibitor as well, but for some reason it doesn't even have a high enough affinity to be considering a meaningful DAT ligand.

Fencamfamine is a secondary amine

edit: in my experiences with a relatives collection of old weight loss drugs, prolintane sucked. Never had FCF, and didn't really enjoy Bontril.

Fencamfamine is a weak monoamine releaser (as well as having some mu opiate receptor agonism)

That would be because prolintane used to be prescribed as a psychomotor stimulant with appetite increasing activity, not supression!

Never mind, I'm thinking of pipradol. I don't even know if prolintane is available in the US, actually.

Hmm... wonder if it's hallucinogenic with that 5ht2a agonism?

If one would add methoxy groups at 2 and 5 positions... To make a weird DOTFM analogue... hmm...
